I bought this uv lamp so I could start doing my own shellac manicures at home. I was worried because some say you have to use the uv lamp that CND sells in order for your shellac nails to come out right. That's not true! From what I read from others, your lamp just has to be 36 watt like this one is. It's so affordable and it works like a charm. Two thumbs up!

Affordable and works great for the do-it-yourselfer
I have just started using the Gelish line in the past few months, and this lamp is ideal for fast and complete curing. The automatic timer feature is really nice, and I can just press the on button and know that the lamp will turn itself off after the right amount of time has passed. It stays off until I am ready to cure the next polish layer. The placement of the bulbs inside the unit ensures that all your nails, even your thumb, cure at the same time. The opening is also shielded well so that even if you look down at your hand while it's inside the unit, you won't hurt your eyes. When I first started out, I tried to get by with just a 9W lamp. It took five times as long, and I would still have trouble with the polish lifting within a few days because it hadn't fully cured. When I saw this model for only $10 more than my 9W, I purchased it right away. From the very first time I used it, I could feel how much harder the polish set, and in a fraction of the time...

Gel Lamp Cures Shellac Products
We bought this lamp, hoping to be able to do our own gel nails at home with the Shellac line. It took a little bit to get the system down, but now it works great. You need to cure the base coat for 10 seconds, the color and top coats for 2 minutes. Then rub the nails with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball to get the sticky film off. Be careful not to get the products on your skin, as it will cause it to all peel off. It lasts 2-3 weeks, depending on how quickly your nails grow!

Just like the salon
I started getting gel manicures about 6 months ago. I really liked the results, but just couldn't justify the $35 (plus $5 tip) that went with my bi-weekly appointments to get them redone. Granted, the manicure actually lasted the entire two weeks and it was really nice to have my hands look nice through all my activities (gardening has a unique way of ruining a manicure). Well, I'm a smart girl and did some research to figure out if I could do this on my own. Amazon had the exact products my manicurist was using (including this lamp). In the end, it cost me around $150 to get the lamp and the ph bond and top and bottom coating, the white for the tips and a color or two, but I figure it will pay for itself in less than 4 manicures if I can do this myself. Works for Shellac CND nails
After reading the reviews, I purchased this UV dryer. I just wanted to leave a little more feedback on this dryer in regards to shellac nail polish. I bought this product to do my own nails. I am not a nail tech, but fully capable of doing my own nails. So here is what I did, I purchased the shellac scrub fresh nail prep, shellac UV base coat, shellac red barroness nail color, shellac UV top coat and this dryer all from Amazon sellers. Here is what I did step by step and it worked. 1. Follow Shellac's instruction on how to prep nails and use products-go to their website. I shape my nails and cuticles, then use scrub fresh to clean and dehydrate. 2. SHAKE the UV base coat for two minutes and paint both hands! I didn't shake well the the first time and the base coat and nail color came out too thick. 3. I put nails under light to cure for 30 seconds. Nails will feel tacky (not dry) and this is normal. Great lamp and perfect for UV nail polish!!
I was fed up with my nail polish chipping, over acrylics so tried UV polish...loved it - nail polish that stays shiny and does not chip off for at least 2 weeks - what was not so appealing was the fact that it cost $40 plus tip locally! After doing some research I decided to purchase the CND Shellac nail polish / base coat and top coat which require a UV lamp to set the colors. I paid $180 for all items - polish and lamp which is not bad, as by polish number 5 I will be saving my cash! CND has an official lamp with a rather high price tag, so I saw this, reviews looked good so decided to give it a try! It has three settings: 2 minutes, 3 minutes and constant. It also does come with the three bulbs it needs (be careful as they are tucked away in the box and I almost missed them! It is a good size - you can fit two hands or two feet in at the same time so it allows you to complete your UV process much faster! Similar lamps tend to be smaller...

WOW it's big. The two hander was the same price at the one hander so I got the two hander. It's pretty honkin. My main complaint it that it only has 2 and 3 minute auto timer and I would really like a 1 minute which I think it claims to have) for doing the OPI Axxium. Works very well. UPDATE! 7 months later. Axxium is too hard to take off so I've started using CND Shellac. FANTASTIC, but don't let them snow you that you need the "official" CND light. I use this bad boy and get two weeks of perfect wear out of my Shellac. Love this light. Also the OPI light is $200+ and you can only do 4 fingers at a time and thumb seperately. lame. LOVE THIS LIGHT

Perfect Replacement, no issues
Needed to do the yearly replacement of the Honeywell UV bulb in my system and HD doesn't carry it anymore. Honeywell's price is crazy as are others on the web. Honeywell UV Light
We installed a UV unit in our home to help keep cold and flu germs at bay. My son has seasonal asthma so anything to keep the air cleaner from environmental airborne particles is great. We used it last season, and found that it did help. I noticed that when one of us got sick the other family members did not so I believe it helped. At least it help me cut down on the lysol I sprayed around the house.

Honeywell RUVBULB1/C UV Lamp Replacement Bulb
I purchased the whole unit () a year ago. It has greatly reduced the amount of time and the frequency of illnesses in my family. It installs very easy. Keep in mind that any accessories, ie. whole house humidifier, that is made of plastic, may not fair well if exposed directly to this lamp.This is the first time I have to replace the bulb. You simply turn off the unit, remove the lamp module, pull the bulb out and insert the new one. Couldn't be more simple. Item arrived in a well packaged cardboard box. Highly recommended.

Warning:The bulb isn't installed when it's mailed.. Just snap it in!
I feel like a professional... this little guy does the trick. However, you can only do one hand at a time, so if you are desperate for time, buy two! I don't always do the gel polish. I sometimes use a regular base coat and my favorite polish. However, I finish with a UV- light accelerated top coat polish. Note: the bulb isn't pushed in so, when you get it and hit the "on" switch, don't freak out. Just gently snap it in.. it's a tight squeeze but you should manage to get it snapped in. Also it doesn't come with instructions, I would have loved to read tips and techniques.

Good buy!
I purchased this item so that I could do gel nails at home. It works exactly as described. I was able to cure my nails within a normal time. This little dryer is well worth the cost. Note to other buyers--when I first received the dryer, I didn't realize that I needed to insert the UV bulb into its socket. You need to get your hand up into the unit and plug it in. Other than that, I had no problems.

This dryer is neat for at home use only. I wish I had gotten one with a fan. It tends to get a little hot. If you want to do both hands and feet, consider the time frame and complete the job as quickly as possible. This unit is perfect for me and I am able to achieve the same salon look. I am very happy with it.

Great price!
I purchased this lamp as an upgrade to the 9w that I had previously and it is much better. The timer lets you not have to watch a clock which is nice. The only downside to it is that it does get a little warm in there and I like to let my nails cure a little longer than recommended. For the price, this is an excellent choice but the more expensive ones do come with a cooling function.

Works well for me
After reading reviews of several UV driers, I decided to spend a little more and get this more powerful unit. Glad I did. Can't speak for the lower watt units, but this one works great for me. I can do multiple coats of polish, including glitter!, one right after the other, finish off with a quick-dry top coat, and dry each hand for about 6 minutes. Dry-dry-dry! (I can do both hands simultaneously if I place one on top of the other!) No more sheet creases or waiting all day for the polish to dry. I change my polish a lot more frequently now. And the price wasn't bad either. Highly recommend.

Works for gel manicures
I purchased this to do my own gel manicures, and it works great. I've used it twice so far with Harmony Gelish polishes. The only thing to note is be careful when switching the timer from 2 minutes to 3 minutes. I didn't realize I hadn't pushed it all the way, so it was in the no-timer position.The timer is incredibly helpful, since you don't have to think about how long to cure each coat. Also, this one angles the two end bulbs to better cure your thumbnails. The overall lamp is a little bigger than I'd like, but the price is right and it gets the job done.If you're using this with Gelish, then cure the base coat and color coats with the 2 minute setting and the top coat with the 3 minute setting.
