TSA approved
Recently received my locks and had the chance to use them. I was asked by TSA agent if I had locks on my luggage? My reply was "yes,approved by TSA"Agent replied "great we can handle that if needed ". Upon arriving at my destination hotel,I unlocked/opened my luggage. Inside one was a tag from TSA saying my bag was opened and inspected. Lock was replaced on luggage. I really felt secure that I was able to lock my checked luggage and would have no issues/problems with TSA if needed to be opened. Wish I knew sooner that these locks were available from Master Lock. Great product and looks good.

Good theft deterrent, but not very secure
I recently traveled internationally and had to check 3 bags so I figured a 4-pack of TSA-approved, keyed alike Master locks was my best bet. I'm constantly unlocking and relocking my luggage because I always relock my luggage before leaving the hotel room, so having one key open all of my luggage was very convenient. My only complaint is that these locks aren't as secure as I'd expected from a keyed Master lock. Two security-related reasons that influenced me to purchase these locks are: 1) Master is well known for making quality locks. 2) I wanted keyed lock because I figured it's harder for someone to pick a keyed lock than it is for someone to roll through the combinations. To make a long story short, I accidentally lock the key inside my luggage. That's when I realized the drawback of having one key for 3 bags. I was getting ready to cut the luggage lining when, to my surprise, I was able to open the lock by pulling the lock's shackle with the index finger of my left hand...

Super Lock
This is the best lock out there in my experience. We had 2 bags that were checked in at the Johannesburg airport. Someone tried to get into both bags. They easily broke one of our brand new locks which was a different model. We found that other lock inside its ravaged suitcase (and many items were stolen from that bag). By contrast, this particular Master Lock had numerous cut marks on it, but it held up well and did not break. This model of Master Lock combines a metal shell and heavily twisted wires in a way that makes it withstand assaults very well. Top to learn more

Great price and worked on a trip to Italy thru several TSA checkpoints
Great price thru Amazon. We used a few of these on a recent trip. I don't know if the TSA guys used their master key to unlock them but they came thru trouble free. It's an attractive lock and the flexibility of the little cable makes it great for gym bag locks where you have to snake thru a variety of locker setups. Top to learn more
Master Cable Lock
I have an application for an airline travel lock where a standard long shank padlock is not practical to use, but this cable lock works fine. I actually have two of these locks and have used both of them twice for air travel and thus far they have worked as advertised. Amazing Little Lock!
This little lock is amazing! It is extremely secure and very hard to bust without looking obvious.I ordered two. One to use and the second to test...During the test I found that if you try to use wire cutters on the wire, you will be twisting and gripping your hardest for at least a good 10 minutes just to get through. My next test was the sledge hammer. I nailed this lock repeatedly. All I did was jame the rollers so that the numbers could not be moved anymore. But still the lock NEVER let go.Get this lock. Good - but buy more...
Very easy to set the combination and fit our filmgear pelicases very well. They withstand the rigours of travel - US and international - very well and I've never had one lost thru handling anywhere in the world. Sadly, TSA are not so rigorous at fitting them back on a case after checking - and they check our bags all the time. So I have to travel with several spares, preset to the combination.The red color stands out well and makes the padlock easier to find in a cramped hotel room during packing, when all the gear is scattered around the floor.In the past I've had types with rigid locks instead of this flexible cable type - they got knocked off the cases almost every trip - these ones can take a hit and have a little 'give' so withstand baggage handling much better.We travel every couple of weeks - so these have had a pretty good field test - most recently in Germany, Sweden, England, Spain, Denmark and Italy. sturdy little lock
I purchased two of these locks for a five-week trip through several countries, and they both withstood being dragged about and opened frequently fairly well. I like the combination feature because it kept me from having to keep track of a key. I never felt like my locks were in danger of breaking.the lock on my suitcase, which was opened about once a day, did not suffer any damage (other than some paint chipping), but the one on my backpack, which was opened many times a day, did start to show some wear where the cable attaches to the lock. the plastic coating over the cable started to come loose and created kind of a kink in the cable. I don't see this affecting the lock's performance anytime soon, but it did make opening and closing a little less easy.overall, highly recommended for a sturdy little lock without the hassle of a key. Great locks
We bought these locks for a trip to Asia, and even after the bags were tossed about in several airports the locks were still in great shape. Easy to set, and they hold securely. There is no danger that the locks will be cut off, as they are TSA approved. The combination-set system is better than a keyed system as you never have to wonder what you did with the key. Just write down the combination on a piece of tape when you get home, stick it to the lock, and there it is to remind you when it's time for the next trip. Peel off the tape, and you're good to go.Update, November 2010: The locks are still going strong. They have been through many airports, and are still working perfectly - have not bent or cracked or failed. Top to learn more

I recently used them on my trip out to Yellowstone this winter and they held up to any tampering they might have encountered and also were not clipped. Decent lock with disappointing design flaw
The lock works ok as a way to help secure travel luggage. The indicator is a nice feature to tell if the bag has been opened by the TSA as they sometimes don't leave an inspection card when they open a bag.However, the lock does have a design flaw that doesn't particularly make any sense. The red flag can be reset both by opening the lock with the right combination, and by pressing a reset button on the outside. The external reset allows anyone with the key to open the lock and clear the flag so that you would never know that it was opened.Overall it works ok as a luggage lock, but I wouldn't use it on anything else, since you never know how many TSA keys are floating around in public. Mixed results
The lock works very well as a lock. The combination is quite easy to change to whatever code you choose. When I got the lock, one of the first things I did was follow the instructions to test the red indicator that shows if it was opened by the TSA. Everything worked fine. On my return flight, the indicator remained down, showing that the lock was not opened. However, when I got home and opened the suitcase, I found an inspection card inside from the TSA. I tried to test the red indicator as before, but could not get the indicator to pop up as it should. It's not so expensive that I think it is worth the time to bother trying to get a replacement instead of simply buying a new one whenever I decide to fly again, but I am a bit disappointed.
