Awesome EP... can't wait for more!
I saw David Hodges perform a few years ago at a leadership conference, and was blown away... then I was surprised to find that the CD he was working on had been shelved by Epic. His music and songwriting is phenomenal. He's had success as a producer and co-writer, but his music stands out on its own and deserves to be heard by a wider audience. I highly recommend this EP, it's a great example of his talent at songwriting, arranging, producing, and performing.

The heart, soul and mind of Trading Yesterday is back!David Hodges is someone everyone actually knows (through collaborations with Evanescence, Daughtry, among others) but he would be even BETTER known if his previous efforts on the band he created years ago -I'm referring to Trading Yesterday- were sold. Right now, it's impossible to buy any of those incredible albums thanks to Epic (boy! was there ever a reason to hate a company!).Still, this EP inspires and makes you want to give thanks for the awesome music this artist composes! Give it a listen!Great having you back David! Hope you finally get the success you deserve!

The beauty and the tragedy
David's music speaks to me. The power of his words mixed with music that amplifies the emotion gives us a compilation of songs that match our lives, and even have the potential to steer it in a better direction.The first song is an eternal instrumental epic which is also the title track "The Rising". It's a beautiful introduction into the EP. It is followed up by "When It All Goes Away" which may try and deceive you as being a radio friendly pop song, but by the time the chorus hits, you can't help but be completely drawn in. "Hard To Believe" is the first single from the EP. A friend of mine listened to this song with me, less than 10 seconds into it he said "hit song!" I think my friend may be right. I've had the chorus in my head all day. The EP wraps up with a song called "Another Red Light" which once again seems to echo life. How many of us drive to clear our heads and get an epiphany while out on the road? This song speaks to moments just like that. He tells us to not...

A Special, Brilliant Soundtrack
Perhaps the oddest thing about being a music reviewer is the way that it causes such a social imbalance in my life. The average person watches a lot of television, sees two or three movies each month, and listens to whatever pleases them. I, however, watch very little television, virtually never go to the movies, and listen to dozens of albums that mean virtually nothing to me. It causes a social imbalance that ultimately renders my opinions on music obtuse, because I am clueless regarding most aspects of pop culture. I bring this up because I'm fairly certain that I will never see the movie "Catch and Release," but I've listened to the soundtrack a few times now, and I think it's great.As a soundtrack, "Catch and Release" features some of the most intelligent and tuneful pop music I've heard in a while. You'd expect as much from Death Cab for Cutie and Gomez, but it's the more obscure acts who really bring something special to this collection. I've never heard of Blinker...

Simplicity can be a wonderful thing
This movie was amazing and beautiful. It was sad, adorable, and hilarious. The theater would actually crack up many times, and even once, we all "awwwwwwwwwww"-ed together. However, I found myself actually whispering to my friend, "I NEED THIS SOUNDTRACK!" This is one of those movies where you can't help but notice how perfect the songs fit in with the film. The music actually made the movie THAT much better.I definately recommend this soundtrack to anyone who loves this movie, or anyone who is looking for a great relaxing CD to listen to while your driving, or just hanging around the house!

Lovely and well-done soundtrack
I was surprised by how much I liked the music in this "chick flick" -- the songs were a lot more deep and interesting than I expected (actually the film was pretty good and thoughtful, too, but that's not the point here). Anyway, good songs, they work well together, and it's really an enjoyable indie pop mix. Nice job, music supervisor!

Yesterday, it was Chesapeake Energy (CHK), a big natural gas producer. 2008 high to 4/19/11 Low to 4/19/11 Change from 2008 high. Both stocks peaked on 7/2/08 – just as crude was about to top (7/14/08 at $141. CHK was a stock that TB owned choosing it over Devon Energy (DVN) in a natural gas play, when it was last cheap but before it plunged recently. Like Best Buy, it’s co-founder is in the spotlight, only this time not playing second fiddle to the CEO. …After discussing the wrongdoing at Best Buy, TB has a few more to add. 5 MILLION shares on a margin call (for perspective, if he still had that position he would own more shares than the SEVEN largest shareholders today – Deutsche, Calamos, Invesco, JPMorgan, Norges Bank, Geode Capital, and BlackRock. Shockingly, he said that he was so enthralled with the prospects that he bought more of the stock – on margin, but when it dropped, he was sold out on failure to maintain margin. Devon bottomed out with the rest of the market on 3/9/09 while Chesapeake hit low on 12/5/08 and skidded thru early 2009. Over the past 12 months CHK is off 43% vs 25% as natural gas prices sunk (stunk. The primary reasons were a lower price and higher dividend…that was the wrong move however but TB bailed long before. It is wonderful for a CEO to invest in his own company…it is WRONG to do it on margin. This morning, Reuters reported that a Goldman Sachs employee in the San Francisco office is under investigation for insider trading…was it…HIM.

For investors who are understandbly less inclinded to buy shares of individual publicly traded companies based in Argentina, there is the Global X FTSE Argentina 20 ( ARGT , quote ), an exchange traded fund. As it has fallen so much in recent trading, concerns with the political leadership have likely been priced in. The major event that investors were waiting for was the nationalization of YPF, and now that wait is over, the damage to ARGT should... In intraday trading on the day of the YPF nationalization announcement, the Global X FTSE Argentina 20 ETF opened at $9. As 80% of its holdings must be economically tied to Argentina, the Global X FTSE Argentina 20 has declined significantly due to the current rule from Buenos Aries. 42 after closing the previous trading session at around $9.
