These throwing stars are excellent! They are mini-stars in reality but they still fly well. The tips do get bent up if they drop on hard surfaces. I recommend putting down towels to cushion their fall if you are on concrete, that's what I do.However, only 3 out of the four stars stick to the target (thick cardboard). The fat, 4-sided one just bounces off; I think it's because the sides aren't sharp and the dull points don't help. I sharpened all mine with a file and now they work even better. The fat one still refuses to stick.Maybe if the target was plywood or some kind of thick material, the fat one would stick. Overall, I recommend anyone buy these - they are great to hone anyone's throwing skills.

Really nice, especially for beginners.
When I ordered these knives, I wasn't really sure what to expect. People keep talking about problems with the knives bending and breaking, but I haven't had any problem with that yet. Seriously, it seems like alot of these people are throwing these things into rocks or something. If the knives are bending or breaking, then it's probably your own fault. Don't complain if your knives bend because you tried to throw them into concrete. However, there is some truth to the cords on the handle coming off. The cord will come off, it can't be prevented, it will happen! I was going to take off a star for that, but then I thought about it. Of course it's going to come off, there probably isn't a single kunai on the market with a cord that WON'T come off. It's up to you though how to deal with the unraveling cords.Just a little added info; the so-called "finger hole" on the handle isn't for the fingers. Great bargain for this style of knives. Well balanced, acceptable weight to length ratio. Don,t worry about the negative reviews here, as usual they are unenlightened drivel. As for the bending issue, to simplify, there are two types of metal, soft and hard. The harder the metal the more brittle it becomes, therefore it will break more easily. Obviously the softer it is it will bend easier. The steel in these knives is pliable yet durable, making it a good choice for throwing knives. You can correct a bend or sharpen them as needed, but you'll find that it is next to impossible to fix a break. My suggestion here is to use a soft target with a soft backstop until you are proficient enough to hit the target every time. The cord wrap does come loose, if you have half a grain of salt for a brain you will figure out how to melt the nylon at both ends and smooth it together.

Real trowing star. Nice quality.
I got this with rainbow color. Not the same in the picture as showed.But not problem for me. Seller ship it so fast.I inspected it closely...Good steel and quality.Only tip is sharp but blade is not.Good weight and good accuracy when trow.It stick with target every times I trow it.So clever Japaneses idea whoever design this one.Still sharp point after hit many times on the target (I use hard wood for the target).Good steel! If you want sharp edge you can sharpening it.But I not recommend that. It will cut your finger or your palm when you trow it.Just sharp tip this enough to make somebody get injure already.For my opinion trowing star will trow for stop or slow or make your enemy hard to move.Their are many kind of trowing star but this one doesn't design for cutting.Good for target practice. Each star is come with sheath for easy to carry.Best recommended.

VERY GOOD THROWING STAR
This is a very good throwing star. as the description says it flies very well, but should be noted that the edges are not sharp. out of the box, i couldn't cut myself with the edges even if i wanted to, but it's nothing a bit of sharpening can't fix. the points are very sharp and with sharp edges can do ALOT of damage. the sheath isn't crappy stuff that would fall apart. it is very sturdy construction that you can feel. I have no problems whatsoever with this product. BUY THIS THROWING STAR IF YOU'RE GONNA BUY ONE.

There are throwing stars -- and there are AWESOME throwing stars. I'd say this one is AWESOME. It's got excellent points, a solid heft, and sticks in plywood as easily as cardboard. Perhaps a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

this shuriken can bend if thrown hard enough and is sorta small so it may be easy to loose in the yard but good thing its chrome, however, this is made out of a pretty durable metal and is easy to sharpen, has great points, and is very good quality for its somewhat expensive price, very well balanced and accurate so easy to throw or learn how to throw, great for starters or fun but i don't think that these are big enough to do any devastating damage to another person, but a good buy

great for it lasted
well, i got it in the mail and it was very heavy, great size, six sharp sides(hex)and good to throw. I gave this a four for the shipping date is 1-2 months, and make sure if you throw you can see were it goes(don't throw at night)I easily lost mine in the yard somewhere, and thats why i got a new one and i got my first one in 4 days all in all good product, sticks into and reasonable surface you throw it at.

A GOOD, INEXPENSIVE TEACHING TOOL THAT IS A LOT OF FUN.
I am giving these things four stars simply because for the cost (which is not all that much), you pretty well get what you pay for. I have two sets of these knives and the serve my purposes well.I have been "into" throwing knives since I was a small lad and since I still have a lot of kid in me, I still enjoy the hobby. I have a large, rather soft post in my backyard near the barn that I practice with.These knives are small. They are also black. This creates problems. Unless you are working in a completely bare area it is quite easy to loose the things. I took care of that with a can of bright yellow spray paint on the handles.These little knives are absolutely ideal for the beginner as they ARE NOT SHARP when you receive them. Folks to start with razor sharp knives end up with nasty little cuts no matter how they hold the knife or what technique they try to use at first. Good Knives, GREAT PRICE!
Knives are well balanced and easy to throw. The paint tends to chip away easily and the nylon grips on the handles are coming unraveled (though I have beaten them to death as is), but for the price you can't really beat this set of throwing knives! Also, the case is pretty heavy duty and any belt can be eaily threaded through it's belt loop.

Eh, I'm new at this
They got here in good time and they look great. The string keeps unraveling and I can't throw 'em worth a darn, but they're my first experience at throwing knives, so we'll see.They hold up pretty well for bouncing off the wall multiple times. I could've done without the "stealth" part when I'm trying to find them in the grass, but I was looking for the cheapest thing out there...
