These magnets are small, but they're very strong. I bought them because of a dumb little project I saw online: Add a few of these quarter-inch diameter magnets into the barrel of a bic pen and you can stick the pen right to your refrigerator. Our grocery list has never been so up-to-date!

Too useful
My magnets just arrived a few days ago and yet I'm already considering ordering more. Now that I have them here and have seen how strong they are (two of them can hold a calendar up on my fridge which in November is really saying something) I keep thinking of new uses. I'm taking 2 to work tomorrow, no more nametag pin holes in my clothes! Although I initially wanted only a dozen of these for an art project, I'm now planning on ordering more, they're almost too useful!

Good product, understandable problem
This product fulfills its claim of being very strong magnets. They are incredibly strong for such small magnets. The magnets are also very reasonably priced for the large number contained in the package. The one problem is that the magnets chip when they cling together or cling to a hard metal surface. This chipping does not occur all the time, however in the first hour of use, three magnets were chipped. This is understandable because the package clearly states that the magnets are not toys, however it would be nice if the magnets were a bit sturdier. If you intend to use these magnets for more serious matters, then I'm sure they will work perfectly. If you intend to use them for entertainment they will likely be short lived fun.

These are very strong magnets
These are probably stronger than you think unless you are familiar with large Neodymium magnets. I can hang two of these from fishing line and they will point north then from across the room (more then 10 feet) can get them to spin around by turning the other two back and froth. From 6 feet I can see the picture on my television get distorted.I bought two sets of these 1" x 1" magnets, almost a week ago, just mess around with because I like magnets. These are a little more than what can be handled without hand protection unless you are okay with injuring yourself.I brought two of them to work and not one of my co-workers could separate them. I can separate them using a couple of two-by-fours or by using the side of a sturdy table to help slide them apart but once they are apart they make me a little nervous.It is very easy to hurt yourself or damage the magnets. I got a small pinch the first night, that is still visible, when I put one on the frig door. Then a couple...

Careful playing around with them
When I received the magnets, there was 2 plastic rings that separated them. It was difficult enough separating them on the table. After finally separating the magnets, I slowly move them closer together thinking that I would be able to distinguish between pull and push before the strength got to strong. All of the sudden the magnets slammed together making a small chip on both of them. These are dangerous because the magnets have weak pull/push until they are about 3 inches near each other, then the pull/push gets very strong and fast which catches you off guard. So the magnets get stuck together and I spend 10 minutes trying my hardest getting them apart on a wooden table, while I tried to get them apart, a nearby knife got attracted to the magnets but fortunately nothing bad happened. When you do get the magnets a little apart, don't let your fingers get in between the magnets! After barely getting them apart, I decided to store one far away. The magnets also go down an...

Liked these a lot too.
These things are great. Like I said on another review. Keep in mind that these have the brittleness that all rare earth magnets do but you will have tons of fun with these before they get chipped too badly. If you don't let them slam together too hard too many times, they will stay in good shape for a long time. I sure wish though that Amazon would carry more plastic-coated ones like I have bought from another place. The plastic coating reduces the pulling power of these by quite a bit but these things have power to spare. Everyone you show them will be very impressed.

Smooth Operators
Forget those wussy refrigerator magnets that'll barely hold up a sheet of paper. These 1/2" neodymium discs can supervise a 12-month calendar, your hand towel, pot holders, your heaviest kitchen knife, and the family cat. Holding knives is where they go to town. You don't need one of those bulky, unattractive counter-top knife quivers that take up so much space; slap these 1/2" disc magnets on the side of the fridge and stick your knife-blades to them. Those strip magnets made for holding knives work well, but they have to be mounted somewhere; the disc magnets don't, and they can be moved around. I've been using them this way for years, and they're the best. The knives are in easy reach, and the edges never touch anything that can dull them down. You pluck the knife you want, and the magnet stays put.Other uses I rely on: Sticking a pen to the fridge. For sewing, holding scissors, pins, and items that you want handy. Powerful but Fragile
These little magnets all arrived in very good condition. I have no disappointment with either their manufacture or their delivery. They are extraordinarily powerful little magnets, so much so that they're very difficult to pull apart, and they jump together very suddenly and solidly. Therein lies the problem: they're rather fragile, damaging and breaking easily. They are still a good purchase, all in all, just be as careful as possible with them.

Best magnets for fooling around with
VERY strong. The size combined with the strength of them make them very hard to take apart. You can use the edge of a table to help separate them.Magnets are brittle. Allowing them to slam together WILL result in them chipping. They are also almost too strong to have them NOT slam together... They are strong enough to pinch fingers pretty good too. Not a toy (for little kids, anyway...).Packaging is pretty neat as well. Fun magnets.

Very strong magnets
These magnets are as amazing as everyone says. It is extremely difficult to separate two of them. Not everyone can do it. They're great for fascinating the kids. I've have them for at least a couple weeks, and my 10-year-old son was playing with them yesterday. He had one under our two-inch thick wood table and one on top, and he was moving the one on top around (really). They're great for holding thick objects on the fridge, and they're not as hard to pull of the fridge as they are to separate from each other. The force will amaze you, and we have had blood blisters from a person getting them too close and having them snap together. Mine have been played with extensively, and there's only a couple chips, so they're not that brittle.

Very Strong Magnets, Very Brittle Exterior
These magnets are incredibly strong. I've placed all four of them in a row & used them as a stud finder -- they are drawn to nails in drywall like fleas to a dog.If you allow these magnets to slam together, you may end up with surface cracks and/or chips on some of them.

They work for what I needed them for
For the price and strength they work great. I needed fairly strong magnets to hold up children's projects to a cloth covered metal board. The projects consisted or two pieces of 11x17 construction paper. Two magnets keep them up. The price was reasonable and I plan to buy more.
