Great Product
I normally do not do testimonials, but I could not live with myself knowing that there may be others out there that this product could help and I did not let them know it. Also, it is another glaring example of why the medical profession needs tort reform. My personal brief story. .......I'm 71 year old male. Over the last couple of years arthritis pain in my knees and shoulder joints had gotten so bad that I would wake up a dozen times a night screaming in pain when ever I would change position. I could no longer walk any distance and had trouble walking up and down stairs. My Dr. simply recommended taking over the counter pain killers; Aleve, ibuprofen, etc. I tried most of the over the counter joint supplements. I was seriously looking into knee replacement. LOVE IT- Helps with my mood
I've tried SAM-e before from another brand and wasn't sure if it was helping. Then I tried this brand and WOW. If you have depression or mood problems, this is great! I feel more cheerful and have more energy for sure (and not a lot of things work for me). Of course, ask your doctor first :) I will definitely get this again and credit it for getting me through the day.

Enhances mood and neural functionsam-e has been studied for decades now for its potential role in enhancing mood and supporting healthy neural metabolism. in a double-blind placebo trial published in 1976, 30 individuals were given either sam-e intramuscular injections (15 mg three times daily) or placebo. individuals were assessed for improved mood and affect. it was found that 100% of patients in the sam-e group showed significant improvements in mood, while only 30% of the placebo group showed any improvement. the improvement seen with sam-e in this trial was rapid, with a response time of between 4 and 7 days.a second italian double-blind placebo controlled study was published in 1987. again, individuals showing signs of decreased affect and mood were administered 200 mg sam-e as daily intramuscular injections, or a placebo, for four weeks. each group consisted of 20 patients, with all medial and laboratory results being normal. rating scales were used to monitor changes and the authors found that the treatment with sam-e was significantly superior to placebo and was very well tolerated.researchers had known that sam-e injections showed benefit in mood enhancement based on the results of multiple clinical trials. however, with injections, chronic administration is always challenging. for this reason, oral doses are superior in terms of ease of administration. studies were conducted to assess the efficacy of oral sam-e preparations. one such study was published in 1990. in this double-blind placebo-controlled trial, individuals were given increasing doses of sam-e from 200 mg to 800 mg twice daily, or placebo, over the 21 day period of the trial. in the placebo group, one of the six individuals showed an enhancement of mood of 50% according to the rating scales, whereas 6 of the 9 individuals given the oral sam-e showed a 50% or greater improvement in mood and affect. It's great for treating depression
After battling clinical depression for a few years and hating what medications were doing to me, I finally tried it. For nearly a year my friend kept telling me to try it but I resisted because I thought if western meds were making things worse, how could something natural make it better. Let me tell you how wrong I was. By the time I tried sam-e I'd been medication free for 6 months. It only took about 3 days, but I shifted out of my depression and felt so much more hopeful and happy.It was as if 100 pounds had lifted off my chest and I could breathe. I felt depression free for the first in a couple of years. As I continued to take sam-e I did notice it wasn't helping as much as it did that very first time. So what I do now, and what works great for me, is when I feel a depression coming on, a spiraling down kind of feeling, I take a 400mg tablet and just like that, the spiral stops. It stabilizes me. Never Disappointed -Buy Quality and Follow Directions
Ever since a vet recommended this product for a geriatric dog, I've used it for numerous elder dogs since then. It is also wonderful presurgery (check with your surgeon of course) and after any kind of stress or recovery. SAM-e
I have been on Paxil for years and others b/f but now without insurance I studied this product and tried it after a week or two I feel better than I ever have I don't feel like some say euphoric but also my feeling aren't masked over to where I feel nothing, seems so far that things that would really bother me (while taking the prescribed drugs) I am much more calm about I don't seem to have to take as much as they say you may need to. I feel this is awesome and I am so glad I made this decision. I started with a higher dose and my poor belly was not happy but when I lowered to 200 I really feel great, hope the government doesn't find out about this you probably won't be able to get it anymore LOL

Jarrow Sam-e
I've been taking sam-e for years. I do notice when I don't take it. It helps with arthritis pain in my back and neck. It also gives me a little more energy. I have fibromyalgia and osteo-arthritis and taking sam-e helps to alleviate some of my symptoms.

good product, good delivery, good price
We buy Sam-e for our black lab. We use 1 200mg tablet a day, along with glucosamine supplements as recommended by our vet to treat hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis. The results have been wonderful. Initially I used the Nature Made brand because it was quickly available at the grocery store. The Sam-e I've bought from Amazon seems to be just as effective and is much less. The box says it is manufactured in the USA. Since I don't know what type of vetting supplement manufacturers are subject to on Amazon or any other site, so I thought it important to try to get one that at least says it's manufactured in USA.

Very effective for me
I began taking this for relief from a suicidal depression a few weeks ago. In fairly short order, the very black cloud lifted and I felt able to deal with life again. I still haven't found a job or solved all of my other problems, but now they just seem like problems to be solved rather than obstacles that made my life not worth living. I also got complete relief from my chronic lower back pain. That actually surprised me, but I see that it is one of the documented benefits of SAM-e supplementation.

Was skeptical but IT WORKS!!
Really gives your mood a boost - just let it build up for a week or so, youll see, it DOES work. However, I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because of the price...a bit high. There are other cheaper brands out there but you will probably not get this quality.

Yep, this is the same product you will get at the drugstore, but at a better price. On the other hand, check prices in case there is a BOGO sale at the local drugstore.It works--in my case by helping my regular anti-D do its work.

One day difference
Call it what you will but i noticed a change in the way i felt the first day i took these. I took them at 10:30 am and completely missed the afternoon blues. I felt content and clear. I think thats enough for me to at least keep taking them. Update: Been taking them consistently and have upped to the 400 mg dosage. In combination with my multi-vitamin, glucosamine and fish oil. I do notice a different in my joints (yoga) and my mood (female)

The World Would be Nicer If Everyone took SAMe!! My hubby was feeling low & none of the test could figure out why. A health practitioner recommended Now SAMe & it was the Best thing we've ever done. I recommend Sam-e for Positive Effects on Mood
I am someone who has tried St John's Wort and 5-HTP, but personally I find that Sam-E is much more effective in generating a calm-mood for me. I find that when I take it with B-Vitamins especially it works quite well, although I am still trying to sort out which dosage to take, and I haven't gone above 400mg/day as of yet. If you are looking for a natural-anti-depressant, I suggest trying Sam-e in combo with a B-Vitamin complex first.
