Mabis and sinus
Wonderful inhalation steamer for sinus conditions. I have been plagued with bad chronic sinus conditions for the past 16 years and have been miserable. Four surgeries and still problems. Countless antibiotics, steroid sprays and tablets, etc. Daily treatments morning and evening with the Mabis and the use of NeilMed sinus rinse saline packets has finally given me my life back to a quite productive state again. The Mabis puts out the very necessary copious amounts of steam where other steamers I have owned have failed. The key is that the Mabis concentrates the steam where necessary, into the nasal passages via the small nasal mask. However, it would be an improvement if Mabis would provide a nasal adapter (such as nebulizers have)that directs the steam straight into the nostrils instead of the the small mask which allows the steam to affect the entire nose area. The angled chimney of the inhaler makes it easier to use. However, it too could be improved by the use of a flexible tube...

Very effective
I had another steam inhaler some years ago, a Kaz TheraSteam. I have problems with my sinuses, and it didn't help much. I have spent years, and some money, on attempting solutions to my sinus problem, with insufficient success. It's been getting better over the years, but every now and then I still wake up after 5 or 6 hours of sleep and can't fall back asleep unless I inhale steam -- a hot shower sometimes works, but it basically means getting up and being up for a while, which is no help if it's less than a two hours before the time I'm supposed to get up anyway.I was shopping for a new humidifier, and not finding much, when it occurred to me that there might be a better steam inhaler than the one I used to have. I came to Amazon and looked around, and decided on the Mabis. I am glad I did! Best Bang For The Buck!
I purchased the Inhaler after reviewing other comparable devices on the Internet. What sold me was the price and the name brand.I've been using it whenever my sinus is blocked and it does a great job. Very low maintenance and the cost (water + a bit of electricity) is close to nothing to what it uses.The face mask (I'll call it that) fits me well but I usually keep my head a few inches away when the steam really starts to engage. I surely don't want to fry my nasal passages and it could easily do that if I continue to keep my face right up to the mask.I know I could use those menthol pads but the cost is high even searching around on the internet for lower costs. What I did instead is purchase those pocket Vicks inhalers that is not only cheap but very effective too! I usually stop for 30 seconds between steam sessions and inhale through each nostril about three times and then continue on with 5-10 minute sessions doing this for 20 minutes or... Top to learn more

A Must Have for Singers and Speakers
This great little device is an essential for singers and speakers, especially those who suffer allergies. (Allergy sufferers who aren't singers or speakers would benefit too.) Steam is the number 1 treatment prescribed by my otolaryngologist when experiencing allergy, cold, or other respiratory/vocal symptoms. My personal steamer travels easily with me, tucked into the corner of a carry-on size suitcase. When you're on the road presenting or performing, it can be a life saver. Much better than a towel over your head and a pan of boiling water too (and safer). I recommend personal steamers to all my voice students. It's true, as another reviewer wrote, that you can buy this less expensively at your local WalMart or Target store, but even at this price, it's a winner. Top to learn more
I LOVE it!
I received my personal steamer today; it's compact, requires no assembly, is easy to use and the flow of steam is adjustable. The face mask is relatively comfortable and it was relaxing to inhale warm, moist air during the treatment. Cleaning instructions appear to be simple. Amazing relief!!
I've also used a neti pot, but this is far superior. I have severe allergies, year round, and a friend recommended the neti pot which my doctor had never mentioned. It worked so well, right off the bat, that I purchased this, and I'm amazed. It takes only a few minutes, and I use it once in the morning and once before bed just as part of my normal routine. The thing is terrific, and I get instant relief PLUS the nighttime usage has really helped that early morning stuffiness. I can't get over the change. If you suffer allergies or other sinus issues, this could really, really improve your comfort level. I still have to take my meds, but at least now I can stay on top of problem, and I give full credit to the SinuPulse. I Wish I Had Tried the SinuPulse Sooner!
I am a registered nurse for 24 years and have suffered with chronic sinusitis for 15+ years. I have tried everything from making changes in my environment to nasal irrigation. My allergist, ENT, and general practitioner have all suggested I irrigate my sinuses twice a day. They say it's like washing your face. It makes sense.I have done this off and on for years using a bulb syringe, a neti pot, and then the plastic squeeze bottle. I felt like the daily irrigation was doing nothing and I was still getting sinus infections. Plus, I kept getting fluid in my ears. So I resorted to just using the irrigation when I did get a sinus infection.I happened to be talking to another nurse and she suggested I try a pulsating irrigator.
