Smooth Operators
Forget those wussy refrigerator magnets that'll barely hold up a sheet of paper. These 1/2" neodymium discs can supervise a 12-month calendar, your hand towel, pot holders, your heaviest kitchen knife, and the family cat. Holding knives is where they go to town. You don't need one of those bulky, unattractive counter-top knife quivers that take up so much space; slap these 1/2" disc magnets on the side of the fridge and stick your knife-blades to them. Those strip magnets made for holding knives work well, but they have to be mounted somewhere; the disc magnets don't, and they can be moved around. I've been using them this way for years, and they're the best. The knives are in easy reach, and the edges never touch anything that can dull them down. You pluck the knife you want, and the magnet stays put.Other uses I rely on: Sticking a pen to the fridge. For sewing, holding scissors, pins, and items that you want handy. Hanging a curtain on a steel door. For home...

ONE lot of 10 Magnets. Size: 1/2 inch diameter x 1/2 inch thick discs. Nickel (Ni) Plated (silver-like shine) Grade: N48 - Extremely powerful magnetic material Pull Force is approximately 6.1 pounds under ideal conditions. These discs are axially magnetized, so the strong North/South poles are in the center of the flat sides. That makes them easier to stack into a cylinder than to connect side by side. The metal coating is durable, but ALL Neodymium magnets can chip or shatter. If used gently, these magnets can serve you for a lifetime. Top to learn more

Perfect Magnets for Crafts
These are perfect magnets for crafts. Not too strong, the exact size I needed, very reasonable even with the shipping cost. They also seem to have a coating so they won't scratch. I'm so glad I didn't get the tiny super strong ones; they would have bee problomatic. I'm making my own spice containers that will adhere to the front of my frig. I'm saving a ton by making my own and I couldn't be happier! Top to learn more
Perfect for crafts
I bought this to make magnets using 1" discs and they are perfect. I've already ordered a second set. They are strong enough to hold over a dozen sheets of paper on the fridge. Also, they are a great thickness- thin enough that the magnet doesn't stick out too far from the surface of the fridge. Top to learn more

Small but strong
These magnets are small, but they're very strong. I bought them because of a dumb little project I saw online: Add a few of these quarter-inch diameter magnets into the barrel of a bic pen and you can stick the pen right to your refrigerator. Our grocery list has never been so up-to-date! Top to learn more
Too useful
My magnets just arrived a few days ago and yet I'm already considering ordering more. Now that I have them here and have seen how strong they are (two of them can hold a calendar up on my fridge which in November is really saying something) I keep thinking of new uses. I'm taking 2 to work tomorrow, no more nametag pin holes in my clothes! Although I initially wanted only a dozen of these for an art project, I'm now planning on ordering more, they're almost too useful! Top to learn more

Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. They are amazingly powerful for their size and have innumerable uses. These disc magnets are 0.250 inch (6.4mm) diameter and 0.100 inch (2.5mm) thick. They are magnetized through the thickness. They are composed of grade 40 neodymium iron boron magnetic material and are plated in nickel-copper-nickel for a shiny corrosion resistant finish. Their individual pull force is approximately 2 lbs. Maximum working temperature is 176 F (80 C). Magnets may chip and crack if allowed to snap together Top to learn more

Good product, understandable problem
This product fulfills its claim of being very strong magnets. They are incredibly strong for such small magnets. The magnets are also very reasonably priced for the large number contained in the package. The one problem is that the magnets chip when they cling together or cling to a hard metal surface. This chipping does not occur all the time, however in the first hour of use, three magnets were chipped. This is understandable because the package clearly states that the magnets are not toys, however it would be nice if the magnets were a bit sturdier. If you intend to use these magnets for more serious matters, then I'm sure they will work perfectly. If you intend to use them for entertainment they will likely be short lived fun. Top to learn more

Great fun
How to entertain an 8-year-old who is stuck at Grandma's house sick? Grandma has an old-fashioned TV that doesn't do video games and a terribly slow computer. Happily, we found this toy that provided hours of fun. While at the drug store getting his prescription filled he chose these magnets because he'd seen some at school and was intrigued. It's been a long time since I've seen him so fascinated with something for so long. The magnets are quite heavy for their size (approx. 2" long)and have a highly polished surface, which makes them inviting to hold. They are very strong and can be made to do all sorts of interesting `magic' things, from moving mysteriously on the top of a table by virtue of the other held below the surface, to dancing and wiggling around on the floor. When they connect, they make an interesting buzzy sound. Even I had fun playing with them. Because their magnetic field is so strong, it's easy to learn a great deal about magnetism without even trying. I... Top to learn more

Great!
I bought these to hold an aluminum gas door closed on my truck after the original spring broke. They show a picture of the magnets holding together through a penny so I figured I'd give them a try after using hook and loop first and having it fail due to exposure to the elements. I got the tiny 1/4 inch ones and used epoxy to clue them on the door. They worked so perfectly and I found so many other uses for them I actually ordered two different sizes to add to my collection. They are so strong that even the tiniest ones will hold through multiple sheets of paper on your fridge, I've glued them to bottle openers and also to my BBQ tools to stick right on the side of my grille. I love these things and can't believe I never discovered them before. Top to learn more

Super Magnets
This purchase is to go along with a Space Marine Model set for my 10 year old son. It is quite challenging placing the magnets into the limbs and weapons of this set but a responsible adult is highly recommended to drill the pieces safely. It works really well allowing limbs and weapons to be moved or removed and switched with other pieces. Really strong magnets!! Ensure to match magnets prior to gluing into place. Top to learn more

I am looking for v-shape, u-shape, bar and sphere RARE EARTH or neodymium magnets. Where can I buy magnets in vancouver BC(locally). Ideally a local store that has a good selection of sizes, shapes and materials of high quality.
The strongest permanent magnets presently known to humanity are rare earth magnets. Neodymiums are the most affordable ones when you are ready to buy rare earth magnets.
