Lysine
Now that I'm in dentures, I was getting little sore spots in my mouth from inadvertently biting my lip, tongue or cheek. Very annoying, but a nurse friend suggested I start taking Lysine to help the healing process and it has really helped. It also helps to ward off cold sores. Top to learn more

Works for cold sores
I get severe cold sores every six months or so. A nurse friend told me to take this when I first have the tingling. I have done so and so far, two years, no cold sores. It works. No need to take it every day, just as you feel the tingling and then a few times a day for three or four days. Top to learn more

Good stuff for EVERYONE, cold sores or not
I have been fortunate to only experience a very mild, occasional cold sore on my lip. Actually, it's not even occasional any more, thanks to this stuff. If I take one or two doses of this, at the first suggestion of irritation (tingling/etc) the problem never actualizes.Part of my line of work involves being out in elaborate-yet-not-warm costume in all types of weather. After working a couple of exhausting 12 hour days in rainy weather and camping in an unheated building, it's nearly impossible not to catch a cold. However, since I began using lysine (and sharing it with all of my coworkers and neighbor workers), none of us has gotten sick, or as sick. I love this supplement!
I love this product.I have Crohn's disease and get recurrent shingles also. Sometimes I just feel achy all over when this occurs. When I feel the pain of my shingles coming on the back of my leg, I start the L-Lysine. All in all, for me, it seems the autoimmune diseases are connected, though I have NO medical background. I felt awful the last 2 weeks, then (finally) started this supplement, and I quickly am back to my old self.I have used it for years. I use this particular brand, as I have used other L-Lysine that didn't work for me.If you have any kind of autoimmune disease, you might try this. It is a good product and I have used it enough to know there is a correlation between how I feel, when I have any kind of flare, and when I take these tablets.

Works but with some limitations
I had 3 cold sores in about 2 months time and I didn't take these pills daily but started taking them after the first tingle. The first one lasted about a week and was rather small with mild irration. So small in fact that I wasn't really self conscious about it except for the fact that I can't kiss my wife during that week. In this particular case, I used this product along with the Zicam oral swabs.The second one was even smaller and lasted about 3 days from start to finsih. I really didn't even notice it except for the lysine cream on my lips along with really minor irration. That one I took this product along with the Lysine cream.This most recent one which I'm in the scabbing phase right now. It's actually two cold sores, each about an inch long on my lower left lip and the other right below it. Oste O-3 tablets-90 Count
I purchased Oste O-3 tablets from my Vet for my 5 year old New Foundland that seems to be having some arthritis problems with her back legs. Within a few days there was a marked improvement. When I ran out of the supplement I switched to a different product also containing Glucosamine HCL (Pro motion) available at PetSmart because it was inconvenient to get back to the Vet to buy more Oste O-3.My dogs condition degraded while on the new supplement. From this experiment I would assume that the entire blend was what is helping her condition. The two products have a very different blend. The dog will eat these
I have tried several types of joint supplements and wrapped them in all sorts of doggie pleasing goodies but the border collie will not take them, going so far as to refuse a treat if he thinks a pill is lurking inside. These he takes without having to sugar coat them with anything. It is part of our morning routine, he accepts his pill as is and chews it up without question. As to how well they work, he is 10 years old with hip dysplasia and bounds about with endless border collie energy even after hours at the dog park and 2-a-day multiple mile walks.
