Different Amazon vendors give different cables! Cellular 5 Star gave best. Importer520 cables were okay. Item44less were worst
I compared the cable I received with my original iPhone 4 and 3 cables. I cannot tell any differences other than a slightly different feel of the rubber/plastic material along the cable length, which by the way also differs between my genuine Apple iphone 4 and 3 cables. Another reviewer posted pictures on Amazon in which the cable in question appeared to have a slightly wider or larger connectors, but mine are identical in size, and appearance.I am very happy with this purchase and will purchase several more.ADDENDUM April 20, 2011=======================After my initial great experience with the cable (that I ordered from Amazon's merchant Cellular 5 Star), I ordered 3 more cables, and did not realize that the "default" merchant had changed to Importer520. Not an "Apple" cable but VERY LITTLE DIFFERENCE! (see my pics for full visual comparison made 4/1/11)
I browsed Amazon for weeks teetering between about 3 different sellers for my replacement dock cables for charging/syncing my iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and 160Gig iPod Classic. I found these cables to be the least expensive of the ones with predominately "good" reviews. There were a few people who said they got the "real thing" when they ordered the cables as "OEM Apple cables", a few people who said the cables were good but not "OEM Apple" quality, and finally there were a few who said to "stay away from these cables" because they tore up easily. I figured I'd chance it and order them. I am VERY PLEASED that I did. I ordered the cables 3/29/11 and was given a forecasted delivery date of 4/4 to 4/7/11. I received the cables today (4/1/11). VERY SPEEDY SHIPPING!!!! The cables were sent via USPS in a small brown envelope that was coated inside with bubble wrap. Genuine charger for 1/6 the Apple price
This charger costs an astounding $30 if you buy it from the Apple web store! Maybe Apple dips it in gold or something, but there's no reason to pay $30 for it when you can get it for about $5, is there?After I got this, I looked it over very carefully, comparing it to one a friend got from Apple. This is either the real deal, or it's the best knock-off ever made. It has the same markings and numbers as the original.Bottom line: It works, and it's much, MUCH cheaper than it is from Apple. Video and Sounds works on Macbook Pro 13 Mid 2010
Bought this worried that the audio would not work, and I can confirm that sound and video both works with this adapter. I am using the latest Macbook Pro 13 with Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz, the mid 2010, model MC374LL/A. Once connected, the macbook will auto detect your tv and will show both monitors. Just go to system preference, sound, output, and select your TV as the output for the sound. You will then have audio and video on your TV. You could also mirror the screen to the TV and assign the video output for the TV to 1080p, under system preference, displays.Working great so far!

Good product but beware which seller you are getting from
First of all beware buyers, do not buy from the seller ELMENOS if you want a Mini DisplayPort with HDMI with working video AND AUDIO support, I have read all the negative reviews where people said they are not getting audio from their TVs and such. It is because ELMENOS, one out of the several sellers, are selling the Mini DisplayPorts with no AUDIO support. I was; however, lucky enough to order from BargainCell which sent the correct Mini DisplayPort to HDMI that is displayed in the picture. However, my friend who I referred to buy this adapter also bought this item from ELMENOS and they sent him a different adapter than what was displayed in the picture. When he emailed ELMENOS, the seller told him he bought the wrong item, and it does not come with audio support and referred him to a more expensive Mini DisplayPort. All in all I am very happy with my purchase from BargainCell which provided me with AUDIO and VIDEO on my 2010 Macbook Pro; however, my friend is not. It seems...

This is a great option for connecting your laptop to an HDTV, monitor without display port, or your A/V receiver.Unfortunately if your macbook pro was purchased before the summer of 2010 then this adapter will not carry an audio signal to the HDMI cable that you plug into it. That is easily remedied by purchasing a mini-toslink to toslink cable or adapter and running two cords.I have this running from my Late 2008 Macbook pro to my Pioneer VSX-1020-K then to my LG 42LH90 and it looks amazing. I will probably braid together a 15ft HDMI cable, a 15ft TOSLINK cable, and a 15ft network cable to use when I want to hook the Mac up to the big screen.
