This econometric study covers the latent demand outlook for imitation lobster meat across the regions of Greater China, including provinces, autonomous regions (Guangxi, Nei Mongol, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Xizang - Tibet), municipalities (Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, and Tianjin), special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau), and Taiwan (all hereafter referred to as "regions"). Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 700 cities in Greater China. For each major city in question, the percent share the city is of the region and of Greater China is reported. Each major city is defined as an area of "economic population", as opposed to the demographic population within a legal geographic boundary. For many cities, the economic population is much larger that the population within the city limits; this is especially true for the cities of the Western regions. For the coastal regions, cities which are close to other major cities or which represent, by themselves, a high percent of the regional population, actual city-level population is closer to the economic population (e.g. in Beijing). Based on this "economic" definition of population, comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city's marketing and distribution value vis-a-vis others. This exercise is quite useful for persons setting up distribution centers or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each region and city of influence, latent demand estimates are created for imitation lobster meat. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. A definite aid to lobster appreciation
For more than a half century, I've been pounding and nut-cracking lobsters in my quest to savor their meat. These shears came to my attention as an alternative approach to dealing with the thicker shells of large lobsters. There are some less expensive versions of these shears; however, they are blemished by flimsy construction and inability to survive the tough shells of these crustaceans. These particular shears are quite sturdy and do the job well, surviving intact to the next dining experience. The only minor issue is that a critical component is the spring and one of our two pairs had a slightly "sticky" spring that sometimes needed us to help it open the blades. A bit of vegetable oil improved its function. These shears are an excellent way to add grace and ease to a lobster dining experience, getting better exposure of delectable meat without shell fragments, splashes, and "got you" streams of lobster juice in your beloved's eyes. pI didn't expect to find lobster that fresh anywhere but in the Maritimes so it came as a surprise when we saw people hard at work deshelling lobster meat, dipping the white meat into a plastic cup of clarified butter on the concourse of the... p It was simple steamed lobster meat but it was deliciously luxurious and sweet without needing to open the container of butter. p We spent the next 15 minutes in silence, prying and coaxing meat out with the occasional 'ow' when a hand got too close to the spiky shell. pI was outfitted with a white bib, given tools and I did my best, with the occasional tip from our server, to get as much meat from the shell as I could. pWe stopped window shopping and went on a search for the source and it didn't take us long to find it, the store is named after lobsters after all - The Lobster Place.
I had already cooked octopus, so even though they had huge octopus and baby ones (which you can cook completely differently) I wanted something different. I cooked them until they lost the fishy taste that so many people complain about when cooking scallops. When it is at a rolling boil again, place lobster(s) in the pot. I've never cooked any sort of shellfish but I decided lobster would be a great idea. Bring back to boil, cook until bright red (around 10-15 minutes). Wanna know a cheap but delicious way to cook lobster.
