Product Description

The 2010 Malbec is an absolutely incredible wine and was crafted in a year when the weather was simply perfect to the point of making me nervous. The wine is a classic, rich with black fruits, cocoa, hints of tobacco and leather melding seamlessly with traces of minerality from the alluvial stones the vines thrive in graced by a constant supply of glacial melt water. The wine is fat, layered and boldly rich, an expressive wine with a long luxurious lingering finish that will pair with almost any food and yet stands alone as well. Layer after luscious layer, this is like a ten layer, Layer Cake. This is a Malbec that will be requested for years after we run out. Make sure to save some in your cellar. Top to learn more

Best of the best
I have been using this pan for years, and they (I have three of them) still look like newly bought. Cakes bake in a breeze, without burning, or not browning enough. This is the best pan for cake baking I have found, and do not doubt to compare it favorably with any other much more expensive cake pan.

#1 Choice In Bakeware
The weight of these pans are wonderful - I own three of the 9" rounds and have never had a problem with sticking or burning. You can't go wrong with this product.

Great product
This product is so simple, it is hard to get too excited about it, but here goes...Our previous cake pans were purchased in the department stores. They main selling point was their "no-stick" coating. These worked fine - at first but the no stick quickly wears off and the pans are thin & dark and the next thing you know is that all you are worried about is avoiding burns. We chucked those and got these. OK "no-stick", forget about that. Use PAM (for baking) instead. These pans are heavy gauge aluminum - HEAVY. They retain their shape and they spread the heat evenly. NO hot spots! They are heavy gauge aluminum - HEAVY. They don't burn which means they clean up easily (remember the PAM thing). They are heavy gauge aluminum - HEAVY... period. There is no funky coating to flake off down the road. Take care of these and you will have them for a long, long time.Bottom line - we like them and we'll be buying more (in different sizes) soon.

Product Description

Making a cake is a bit of an adventure, there's a certain amount of risk involved, suspense even. One of the ways to ensure your cake turns out perfectly done, and with good "crumb" is to use superior bakeware, like this pan. Made to withstand commercial use, while still producing a professional product, this is a cake pan worth owning. Top to learn more

Many excellent bakers prefer a cake pan without a fancy nonstick liner, knowing that traditional greasing and flouring provide enough coating for most recipes. This pan from Chicago Metallic provides everything you could want in such a pan: deep, perfectly straight sides, a thick rolled edge, and heavy-duty construction. With long-term use, the pan will darken, creating a need for slightly shorter baking times but enhancing the delicate crust of tender cakes. Both chocolate and white cakes bake up beautifully in this pan, rising evenly, developing a thin crust and good color, and releasing without breakage. The pan is dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is a breeze--when used with proper lining techniques, not much sticks to this pan. --Jill Lightner Top to learn more

A great addition to a baking library
The tall layer cakes you see at the bakery always look so impressive sitting on a cake stand or plate and sliced with two layers of filling. Somehow the two-layer cakes I make don't quite stack up (pun intended). But most recipes for the home baker are written for two layer cakes. This book has recipes to make those fabulously tall, triple-layer cakes. I wouldn't buy it as a first cake cookbook (Rose Levy Beranbaum's "The Cake Bible" or Nick Malgieri's "Perfect Cakes" coes to mind as better beginning cake baking cookbooks), but this book does deserve a place on the shelf if you really enjoy baking cakes and want to make the kind of cakes that will inspire "oohs" and "ahs" when you bring them to the table. There is a great variety of recipes. The recipe categories are: chocolate cakes, vanilla cakes, fruit-flavored cakes; nut and spice cakes; cakes with a world of flavor (e.g. chai, dulce de leche, black forest, blue cornmeal), and finally holiday and special occasion...

This is One Great Cake Book
I have quite a library of cook books and this one has quickly become my favorite baking book. This book is not only visually beautiful, but the recipes are well written and easy to follow.I certainly hope to see more books by Alisa Huntsman!

Irrestible Indeed!
What a delightful reading experience! Sky High is well-written and a pleasure to read. Beautiful, full-page color photos accompany nearly every recipe, and the paper is sturdy and high-quality. The Baker's Notes throughout the book offer additional tips to ensure baking and frosting success. The cakes are inventive and there were many new, delicious-sounding combinations that I am eager to try (such as chai cake with honey-ginger cream, Halloween sweet potato cake and chocolate-hazelnut gianduja cake).Chapters include Baking Basics (a primer on ingredients and equipment), Chocolate Cakes, Vanilla Cakes, Fruit-Flavored Cakes, Nut and Spice Cakes, Cakes with a World Flavor, and Holiday and Special-Occasion Cakes. The recipes are straightforward and easy to follow. An amateur baker armed with the chapter on baking basics and an attention to detail should be able to create any of these masterpieces (perhaps with the exception of the three wedding cakes...

Best Baking Book!
I have had her 1st book since it was published in 1991 and now I have it's awesome revision with tons of new recipes! It is the only baking book I ever use. It is also the only cookbook that I own without beautiful picture, but her descriptions are so good you can almost taste them!

OMG
Was I lucky! I purchased the latest Rosie's Bakery cookbook before Thanksgiving and was able to have several of her desserts (new recipes) on the table with the turkey! What a hit they were with my guests. Really, everyone was already so full as we all are on Thanksgiving, but my family found room for the goodies.I have had her first book for sometime now, it's covered with frosting and drips of chocolate, so was glad to learn that Rosie just published a new cookbook. I am giving it to all my friends for Christmas! Thank you Rosie!! Wish you would open a bakery in Miami!!

Won a blue ribbon at the state fair thanks to Rosie!
I bought the original edition back in 1990's when I was a newlywed and didn't know much about baking. I have learned a lot since then and made probably two dozen of her recipes from this book--all wonderful. Her peanut butter cookies are my family's favorite and I have tried a ton of different recipes. The best recipe in this book is the Honeypots. I made these for our state fair and won the blue ribbon! These recipes are fantastic!

Where Can I buy Layer Cake Wine

She knows enough about wine to differentiate between a cheap price tag and a great buy, but there is so much more she wants to learn. Prescription:   You are treading in consumption and need a wine that that does not pull you under by the price, but rather lifts you up by its quality and taste.   Why don’t you stop saying you don’t know anything about wine (especially around me).   If you drink wine and like it that’s all you need to know to enjoy what’s in your glass.   Now it’s what I call “dessert” labels – wines like Layer Cake, Cupcake, Coffee Cake, etc.  If you live in a state where it is a challenge to find the local wines, or in a state with very few wineries, then check out wine from neighboring states.   The quality of wine in a box is improving and you can now find very drinkable wines.  Why don’t you buy a wine just because you like the label.   Why don’t you proudly buy boxed wine.   Why don’t you stop buying wine based on points.  Prosecco (from Italy) is made by another method called Charmat, where the second fermentation that produces the bubbles takes place in large tanks, versus in the bottle as in the case of Champagne, Cava and American sparkling wines.  Did you know some wineries (and very good ones at that)  just don’t submit their wines for reviews. 2,  Why don’t you order the least expensive bottle on the restaurant wine list.
