A TON of fun, especially in larger groups
This is an excellent product that is a lot of fun for many ages. Thanks to this unit we have an active club going strong. Forgive the long review, but this unit deserves it in my mind.ProsFun - It is a blast, especially in groups. This really is for adults as well as kids, and if you get a group of people together to do this, you will have a blast. There are many videos of people playing with this and previous generations on Youtube. Search 'Phoenix LTX', 'Tagfest', 'Lazer Tag Team Ops', and you'll probably find a lot.Range - These taggers (guns) have a range of about 350-400 feet, maybe further (maybe a bit less in bright sun).Features - These taggers have several features to enhance the playability. a) 10 or 25 tags - you can set a switch to set your 'life' at 10 or 25 tags. Awesome!
My 12 yr old son loved playing Lazer Tag at our local Lazer tag center for his birthday. His friends have this system (last year's model)and because it comes with two taggers, someone would get left out. So, I got this and now they have 2 on 2 battles outside and even in the house. This system is awesome! Very accurate.

Slightly disappointed
After reading all the reviews I was very excited to get the guns in the mail and try them out. The guns were great fun indoors, but outside they were useless. The other reviews talked about their 300ft range, but I had on average about 20 feet of range. They did not work at night at all. The other reviews out there are a bit old, and maybe they changed their designs. Indoors, in close range they were great fun, but don't expect to do anything more than that.

Fun Lights, Sounds, and Vibrations
To start the game, simply push the side power/game type switch. Be sure to agree on a strength level with all players before starting, because it cannot be changed once the game begins! The two guns are equipped and ready for battle with a rumble pack vibration that lets you know when you've been hit, a recoil feature that is activated with every fired shot, and a force-field style shield that will protect you from any incoming fire! The shield gives you that extra couple needed moments to aim with precision, and help you hit your target with accuracy.

As a side note: We recommend always holding your gun with both hands since they are heavy and could break if dropped repeatedly.

My 6 and 8 year old nephews love this
I got this toy for my 6 and 8 year old nephews for Hanukkah (2010). I was a little skeptical when I got it in the mail, because the box was pretty small and light. However, this later proved to be irrelevant. My nephews adore this toy, and they have been playing with it non-stop since I gave it to them a couple of weeks ago. Take note however, that they'll need to do little handywork in setting the toy up. My nephews were able to read the instructions and prepare the toy themselves (they had to use a mini screwdriver to unlatch the casing to install the batteries), but that took only a matter of minutes. The box comes with two sets each of a receiver/gun combo that the kids wear. The toys light up and make a lot of "laser" noises when a shot is fired or when a shot is registered. They seem quite durable. In summary, I would highly recommend this as a gift for young children (girls and boys).

Spy Net: Laser Tag Reveiw
OverviewSeveral years ago i had purchased the "old" laser tag system from Jakks. They eventually broke after about two years of use and i was delighted to find that they had rereleased them. These laser tag pistols are small and light but dont let that deceive you! They are reliable, very sturdy, and they have surprising range and accuracy you can easily hit somebody at 300 ft. The gun itself has a reload, reset and neutralize button. After 25 "shots" the gun clicks empty and you have to hit the reload button to get more ammo. The reset button is annoying being right were a right handed persons thumb would be and is easy to accidentally hit. Its ok though because you can only reset the other player by pointing your gun at them and pressing the reset button. If you hit the other person by pressing the neutralize button then their gun is frozen(meaning they cant shoot) for 15 seconds. They work really well and though they are better for close combat, I do not advise using them...

Lazer Tag for 2010!
I purchased this item for my childrens Christmas gift. What fun it has been. This takes me back to my childhood playing with the old 'LazerTag' system. The Laser Strike has more options and even a "Time-Out" button. My children ages 7-11-14 really get into this outside during the evenings. It has great distance and accuracy.

Lazer Tag toy teaches teamwork and problem-solving in a fun
Hello, this is my first review of an item on Amazon.com. To start off, I will simply go through the categories the stars highlight, then move on to a broader review.Fun: I am 23 years old, and am not afraid to admit that I bought this stuff mainly for myself... I have 24 sets, which is the maximum number of players in the programmed games. Every game I have played has been a blast, in environments ranging from a large wooded backyard, to a very large woodland park, to a privately reserved coastal fort battery :) The main thing that makes this gear fun game after game is that it has so many different modes of play available. There are straight up free-for-alls, team based games, Protect the leader games, "King of the hill" (Zone) games, and even a couple "Hide and Seek" games, that have you chasing the rival team 1 minute, thun running from them the next (Great cardiovascular workout by the way, just program a 20 minute Hunt/Seek game in close quarters)...

Ages 8 and up
I just saw the review below and had to reply to it (I am one of the inventors of this toy)...It is intended for ages 8 and up as the package indicates, so I don't doubt 6-year-olds would have a hard time with the advanced controls, but you don't need to use them and you certainly don't need to be a teenager to get a lot of enjoyment out of this toy.For just the old fashined grab-it-and-go game, all you have to do is pull the trigger once to wake the toy up and pull it again to start the game. There is a 10-second countdown so that everyone can get to a starting position, then the game begins and it's just like the Lazer Tag everyone knows and loves: you try to tag your opponents 10 times each, and if you do so they are out. You do need to "reload" every 10 tags launched, which is done by pulling the forward handle back and releasing it. So those are the only controls you need for the basic game, just Trigger and Reload. The game runs until everyone is out...

Best Laser Tag System made
This laser tag system is amazing! It is so cool. This is a must have for every child. First the eye peice is really cool, it let's you know when your gun is locked on the target, whenyou shot someone, and when you've been shot by someone else. The range is 250+, even outside. The sounds can be turned on and off. Also, the most astoundingly epic thing about this guns is that there is a LCD screen on the gun. The screen provides real live info, such as how many sheilds you have left and so on. This gun also comes with 11 pre-programmed games. Your child can also customize your own games, enhancing them. Your child will never get bored of the endless features. All i can do is hope that you buy this set, and make you child a happy one.

Say hello to backyard laser tag.
Picked one of these up locally for my cousin's birthday, and she loves it. The vest closures and sizing does seem to be for older teenagers, but with some cheap ingenuity we got the vest to stay in place on her, as well as affixing a second one she got to her little brother. When we tried to pair the striker pistols with the vest, it was only a bit wonky because of how many buttons you have to hold down. Once we got the hang of it, everything went smoothly. Watching the two kids chase each other around the yard made me almost want to pick up a set for myself.Edit: I just got a very excited e-mail from her, thanking me for the target vest. From the number of "!" in it, I think I can bump this up to 5 stars.

I want to help you sync them. It does work if you figure it out.
I read the bad reviews online, but still bought the product and am happy with my purchase. I want to help people sync them so here is how I do it and it works every single time. Follow my directions and not those it came with because the actual directions did not work for me. First hold done the team button and let the color you want pop up. Now once your color pops up you must quickly at the same time press the shield and click the trigger while you are stilling holding down the team button and while the gun is aimed at the red sensor shoulder part of the vest and please make sure the vest is turned on. Do not aim it at the chest changing light part of the vest because it will not work. It must be aimed at the should sensor of the target vest. Make sure you sync it fast with the vest because the team colors on the gun change fast and if it does sync to the target vest with the wrong color then just turn of the vest and back on and follow my directions again. Simply didn't work
My son has several of the light strike guns and wanted two target vests to go along with them. You are supposed to be able to "pair" the vest with a light striker so the vest is associated with a a specific team color, but even after following the instructions very carefully, one vest wouldn't pair at all, and the other would only pair one out of every ten or so attempts. They were adjustable with velcro, but they seemed to be sized for a bigger teenager and I couldn't make them small enough to fit on an eleven year old child. Sadly, we're returning them both. The small targets that come with the light strikers are great, so just stick with those; the vests are a waste of money.

Exciting Laser Space Gun
I purchased this space gun after seeing a comment on facebook. My grandchildren love anything with flashing lights and the laser was a plus. As expected it was a hit. The big surprise was that their dog loved chasing the laser. It was utter chaos with lights,laughter, barking and exciting chases. It's the favorite toy when friends come to play and has been requested as Birthday gifts.

It's got an actual laser, BTW
Bought two for my kids, 3 and 4. I see the product description says "laser sight" and they mean that for real. These things have an integrated laser, same as a red laser pointer. The wattage isn't on the package, but you need to be sure that the kids don't aim this in anyone's eyes or anywhere where a red dot would be a problem.

What is as much fun as paintball without the welts and mess? Laser/Lazer Tag! Laser Tag combines the exact same action, strategy and team building that paintball but also allows you to play it inside and with people not willing to get hurt to have fun. But as with paintball, Laser Tag can be expensive if you have to go to places that rent the equipment, sell overpriced food, etc. But if you own the equipment, you can play ANYWHERE for free. With this set the only on going cost is recharging your batteries unlike paintball where you need to purchase new balls every time you play.So for less than a video game system or a few days playing paintball or Laser Tag at places, you can purchase your own equipment and have tons of fun (while learning and getting exercise) with another friend or even the entire neighborhood.Now on to this exact product. Good gift idea, but a few problems
The 2 brothers, 9 and 13, who got this as a gift went nuts at first, but its problems caused them to lose interest fairly quickly.Still, for the price (compared to other brands), the features offer a fairly authentic version of Lazer Tag. Bear in mind, I didn't play with it (darn it!) and this is from the 13 year old's demonstration, but he's very tech savvy and thorough. I may be a bit off on a few details, but I think I have the basics correct, The headset acts as the target and has a 5-petal sort of "life flower" which flashes and loses one petal each time it's hit. One player has a petal with blue lights, the other with red ones. Also, with each successive hit the headset sends low frequency vibrations through your head and body, and a surprisingly convincing "heartbeat" starts pounding as the "wounds" pile up, gradually slowing and eventually stopping as the 5th petal flickers out and you're dead.Each gun has the option of firing 2 separate laser...
