The object: try not to lose your marbles. A long-time favorite, Ker-Plunk takes a steady hand, as you skillfully remove the sticks from the marble-filled tube. A clear plastic tube is filled with marbles, which are supported by crisscrossing sticks inserted through the tube. Each player takes a turn removing a stick from the tube, trying to dislodge as few marbles as possible. Playing w/2 Year Old
I was trying to choose between Ker Plunk, Honey Bee Tree, and Tumblin' Monkeys. I had Ker Plunk when I was 10yo and remembered the marbles wouldn't be appropriate for a toddler. Also, the reviews mention that it is made inexpensively compared to the original one. I decided on the monkeys b/c they have curly tails which cause them to keep getting caught on subsequent sticks as they fall. So, play lasts longer. The honey bees just fall right through and the game end very quickly.I got this for Christmas for my 2yo son and he doens't understand the concept of the one w/the least monkeys wins. Instead we play to see who gets the most monkeys. He also like to throw the die, in the top of the tree, w/the monkeys and he screams from excitement if he gets it on his turn. At the end of the game we count monkeys.

Monkeys Are Much More Fun Than Marbles
I was thinking of buying Kerplunk, which is similar to Tumblin' Monkeys but with marbles instead of monkeys. I am so glad I went with this one! The monkeys have curved tails which makes the game much more fun because the tails hang on to the sticks and to other monkeys. I had the marble version when I was growing up, and it was fun, but it was over in a flash when most of the marbles would come cascading out. When you pull out the multi-colored sticks in Tumblin' Monkeys, sometimes a few monkeys fall out, but sometimes they just hang onto the next lower level of sticks, which makes the fun last longer. The game is rated for ages 5 and up, but my 4 year old loves it, and I think definitely 3 year olds and maybe even 2 year olds would like it too. My 10 year old also has fun playing this game. It's a game that the whole family can play together. The game is easy and fun to assemble, even for my 4 year old, and easy to take apart for storing in the box when you are finished...

Perhaps for little kids (under 3?)
My 4 year old got this game from his aunt. We have tried many times to play it, since it looks cute. But each time, we pack it back up in under five minutes. It actually takes longer for us to pack it up (or to set it up) than to play it. The long-stemmed leaves, which are supposed to be inserted through the holes in the top of the "tree" have to be inserted one by one by an adult. And the bees, which are supposed to be held up by the stems, keep falling through and onto the collection cup before the game even begins. We are not very satisfied with it.

Kerplunk Review---------------The album is fantastic and it has some of my all time favorite Green Day songs on it. "Christie Road," "No One Knows," "80," "One of My Lies," "2000 Light Years Away," and the first glance at one of their stadium anthems, "Welcome to Paradise." Their budget to record this CD was not stellar at all, I believe I read that they only got a couple thousand from their label at the time for it, but it is a step up from the quality of their first full length (which is also QUITE fantastic!).I have always been a big believer of getting every album from a band that I love, and I got this album in an interesting order. I had "Dookie" first, then "Nimrod", then "Insomniac", then I bought this album, "1,039 / Smoothed Out Slappy Hours," and "Warning" all on the same day. There is a logical progression between each album (until you get to Warning that is), and Kerplunk showed some early signs of "Nimrod" with the guys not always using tons...

This is my favorite all time album
Someone asked me the other day, if I was stranded on a desert island, and I could only have one CD to listen to which one would it be? I asked, how would I listen to it if I was on a desert island? Then he changed the question to all the other CD's in the world were destroyed. There was one CD you could save, which one would it be? I asked, why were the cd's destroyed? Then, he turned and asked me, Dude, what's your favorite album? I said oh.... it's Green Day's Kerplunk. What makes it great? I don't know.... For one, the recording isn't that great. There isn't much bass on the album. I think what makes it for me is the re-listen-ability of it. I can put this CD in and listen to it over and over and never get tired of it. The song writing is really catchy, and although it's hard to understand what he's saying half the time (I was singing the wrong words to "It's just one of my lives" for like two years), you find yourself mumblinging along. The songs are in perfect play...

You may have had a hard time finding this, or the album 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy hours for the past few months. This is because these album were originally recorded for, and have been distributed since their release, by indie label Lookout Records. So why would that give you trouble finding them? Well, in 2005, Green Day rescinded their masters from the label, giving copyright control to their current label Reprise/Warner Bros.So now we have this Kerplunk reissue. How does it measure up? In terms of artwork/packaging, everything is exactly the same as it used to be except it says Reprise instead of Lookout on the back. There is no mention of this being a reissue. Pop the disc in though, and you will find the sound has been remastered. Kerplunk always had sort of a quiet sound to it. With this remaster, the volume is louder and all of the instruments and vocals have been enhanced, making them stand out more and sound more crisp.The album opens with 2,000 Light...

This is a cute, simple game. Players pull the sticks out of the rocket shaped game trying to not let the space aliens fall through and out the bottom. The game actually takes longer to set up than to play. The aliens fall out easily. The game can be amusing for a while but only the youngest children will stay entertained for more than a few plays at a time.

If they're old enough, its a good time for all
I got the toy for my 5 year old niece. She loved the fact that it has a toy story theme.My 10 year old niece assembled the ship (just snapping two ends of the ship together). The one frustrating thing is that if you dont snap the ship body in properly (which can be tricky) the whole game wont be stable and collapse mid game and we found that out the hard way.The game is easy to teach a 5 year old and all ages in our home 5-49 enjoyed playing.If you want to keep the toy ship assembled when you are done playing it wont fit in the game box.The ship is the trickiest bit to assemble,but once you get the knack its okay.Its easy to lose the aliens and sticks, so make sure you have a zip top bag handy to put all the pieces (and the die) so no one gets upset.Loads better than the original kerplunk because of the theme. I would buy again.

Great game!
My husband bought this game for our 5 year old daughter. We all LOVE it. I remember Ker Plunk from when I was a kid and this makes it much more interesting with the Aliens. We are HUGE Toy Story fans and thought this was so cute.It is made out of relatively cheap plastic, but seems to hold up well if you take care of it.
