Absolutely Different from the Porcupine!
One of the details I like best is that Folkmanis used different material for this puppet versus the , so, even though my son has both, he could tell from day one which one was which.My main reason for buying him the hedgehog was because it made a great addition to .Even his Nana liked it; it reminded her of the ones in England.

Mr. Hedgehog!!!!!!!
This is a really cute hedgehog finger puppet: I'd say its quality is a bit better than those mini Beanie babies (fast food toys) from a few years ago, but not as good as the real Beanie baby animals. When I got mine, his yarn "spines" were (and still are) a bit smushed from being mailed in an envelope, but it's not very noticeable and will probably go away. He is a really charming and fat little guy though, and works as a stuffed animal (albeit a small one, about 4 inches long and 3 inches high). I love him. However, he won't last long if given to a small child who is rough with his/her toys.

Buy this manual before you get a hedgehog
This is a great guide that explains everything you need to know about hedgehogs. There are lots of pictures to help you visualize the text. This is an absolute must buy for someone before they go out and buy a hedgehog. For the price of the book, it will absolutely help you decide if a hegdeghog is right for you and will help you understand your responsibility in caring for you hedgehog. I had been a hedgehog owner for about 5 months before I bought this book and it has given me some pointers on raising my hedgehog.All in all, this a good book to have around for reference to help you in raising and caring for you hegdehog. Great Info! MUST HAVE for new hedgie moms or dads!
I had been on a waiting list for my little spikey ball of joy for 6 months. Where I'm from (MN) hedgehogs are considered exotics and after knowing all I know now, I know why. They have so many things that are unique to them.This is a MUST READ FOR NEW HEDGIE OWNERS! I always do my research before getting a pet, but hedgehogs proved to be the most particular in their needs. Please read this before, I repeat, before you bring him or her home.I had no idea so many things were toxic and dangerous for hedgehogs. This book tells you everything you need to know. Amazing Detail!
If you're a little kid looking for an "AWESOMETASTIC" toy, then this is not what you want. If you're a person who collects figurines or schleich figurines(Like me), then this is the perfect addition to your collection! Personally, I use my collection of 60 or so Schleich animals for anatomy guiance while drawing. It's a very useful thing to have :) This cute hedgehog is very durable. The detail put into it is great and looks like it had care put into it. I would reccomment buying this animal :)

Great addition for your terrarium
Though I don't now, nor have ever had a hedgehog, I find myself inextricably attached to them and think they look amusing; adding a facsimile to my terrarium gave it more interest. I really appreciate the attention to detail Shleich places on their figures (toys?) so in my mind, this was the perfect/only choice.

A hedgehog's primary defense against a predator is to raise its spines -- which are controlled by tiny individual muscles -- and then to curl up into a ball with its spines pointing in every direction. These animals are the BEST.....they are well made and durable in the hands of our 6 little grandchildren.........hours of fun making little "families" with these animals....I was able to get the Buck, Doe and fawn in the deer family and large/small in many of the other animals...Wonderful...realy imagination play for the children.

There is much to learn before getting a hedgie...
The best book on HH I have seen. Read it before you get a hedgie. Highly readable, well edited, it covers the origins, description, choosing a HH, behaviors/personality/socializing/having fun with, health (sexually active at 7 weeks means that females can easily be pregnant if weanlings weren't kept separated) and feeding, even legal issues of ownership. Plenty of good color photos, and important details in sidebars so you won't miss them, make this well-organized, up-to-date book a must for your decision-making. The final two chapters list and give some description of recommended books and magazines, and list associations and mail order sources for food and supplies. Ms. Wrobel and Dr. Brown clearly love the little hedgehog and are informed and experienced. They also recommend Dennis Kelsey-Wood's titles: African Pygmy Hedgehogs As Your New Pet, and Hedgehogs Today. Breed if you must, use their list of resources, but the hedgie I own, love, and obtained through rescue...

The best book available on the market.
Hedgehogs are still considered "fad" pets by many, and several of the books available on the market today reflect that by providing information that treats these charming, intelligent animals as disposable pets. Dawn's book systematically goes through most aspects of hedgehog care, speaking with expert knowledge and true affection for these animals. The Best!
Dawn's book was one that i happened upon while looking for information on having a hedgehog as a pet. As I did more research I found so many books available that have potentially deadly information in them.I found several breederes in the USA that will not sell a hedgehog to a new person before they have read this book. It is an easy read, with good information. It also has very cute pictures. If you think you want a hedgehog, READ THIS BOOK FIRST!!

Great pool/beach towel for the Sonic fan
This was a gift for my son and he loves it. He loves Sonic, so it is nice to have any other Sonic items we can find. He will surely use this a lot this coming summer. The towel is a little thin, not of the highest quality toweling or thick and fluffy like some beach/pool towels. But he will love it just the same since it has Sonic on it.
