ARRIVED FINE TRANSPLANTED FINE
I got this and transplanted it and WORRIED I would over water or under water! After a couple of WEEK it SUDDENLY grew like over night. It has no sign of putting any fruit out-however; it is like 2.5 inch diameter trunk-it really got big. BUT I love it-it is a BEAUTIFUL PLANT and I am kind of glad it outgrew a bonsai size I expected it to be. Gorgeous. Healthy. Wish it had come with directions on its cares though. Do not have a clue what to do with it to make it set fruit.

Product Description

A naturally dwarf tree that will only reach 3-feet in containers. Can be pruned to be kept smaller yet. Dwarf Pomegranates will bloom when they are about 1 foot tall. Orange-red trumpet shaped flowers adorn the plant from late summer through fall attracting hummingbirds. 2-inch plus bright red edible fruit follow the flowers. The fruit makes a juicy snack. The taste of this popular fruit is a mix of strawberry and raspberry. Its leaves are dark green, marbled with shades of bronze. Punica granatum 'Nana' need full sun and a well-drained soil mix. In warmer climates can be grown outside, in cooler areas, bring indoors for the winter. Minimum temperature of 40 degrees in the winter. Water once a week during the growing season and fertilize on a monthly basis. Once flowering has begun in late summer, the plant should be watered about 3 times a week to produce lots of flowers and fruit. Its natural compact habit lends itself to windowsill culture or bonsai training. The Dwarf Pomegranate is very popular among people who love bonsai because of its flowering and fruiting qualities. This tree has a naturally twisted trunk that appears to be gnarled and ancient, which is ideal for bonsai. Includes complete, easy to grow, flower and fruit instructions. Our near blooming size Pomegranates are 8-11 inches tall and actively growing in 2.5-inch pots. Top to learn more

A bit smaller than expected, but it survived shipping and is doing well!
I gave this item 4/5 stars only because the description is a bit misleading with the "near blooming size" and 8"-11" tall claim. Mine arrived and was probably half that size. One thing I should note for anyone ordering one: I ordered mine in the dead of winter and it still arrived very safe and healthy. However, it suffered some pretty serious leaf shock and lost 90% of them right after repotting. Don't freak out if this happens to you! Just give it some water and be patient. After the tree acclimates, it starts new growth like crazy and puts out new leaves. (I kept mine in a 8" deep pot and used Miracle Grow organic potting mix... and just have it in my kitchen near, but not directly in front of, a window with morning sun.) It took a few weeks for this to happen! For the price I paid and considering the time of year that I ordered it, this was a good deal for sure and I have a very happy and healthy little tree.

User-friendly. Hits all the bases
The Backyard Orchardist by Stella Otto is filled with fruit growing information that is very easy for the hobbyist to implement. Equally important, the information is well organized and is exceptionally easy to find.Strengths:*The information is comprehensive.*The information is very specific. Example: The tables inform you as to which pesticides are most suitable for a given pest (cross referenced to a table of illustrations) and when to spray for them.*The information is both usable and generic. For example: The advice on fertilizing recommends that the grower adjust the amount of fertilizer to match a target annual growth rate (length of shoot extension). That technique compensates for differences in soil type, rootstock, cultivar, etc. Basically, it teaches the grower how to pay attention to their trees.Weaknesses:*Illustrations are more functional than artistic. Not always a drawback.*The very specific nature of the advice limits it. The...

Product Description

Origin: The pawpaw is native to the temperate woodlands of the eastern U.S. The American Indian is credited with spreading the pawpaw across the eastern U.S. to eastern Kansas and Texas, and from the Great Lakes almost to the Gulf. Fossils prove the pawpaw is indigenous to the U.S. The deep winter dormancy of the tree makes it highly frost tolerant, withstanding temperatures of -25 F or lower (hardy to USDA Climate Zone 5). Pawpaws can be grown as container specimens, although this is not often practiced. A deep pot is needed to accommodate the root system. The pawpaw is a deciduous, often narrowly conical tree growing from about 12 feet to around 20 feet. Fruit: The pawpaw is the largest edible fruit native to America. Individual fruits weigh 5 to 16 ounces and are 3 to 6 inches in length. The larger sizes will appear plump, similar to the mango. Pawpaw fruits often occur as clusters of up to nine individual fruits. The ripe fruit is soft and thin skinned. Top to learn more

Lovely book, clear and helpful advice and tips.
I recently checked this book out from our local library and decided that I need a copy of my own, and I'm also purchasing a copy for my parents. It's absolutely packed with photos, illustrations, instructions and advice to help you grow the best and healthiest fruit trees, shrubs and vines possible.I was particularly impressed with the detailed instructions on how to train espaliers and cordons because I have a very small yard and want to grow as many varieties that I can in the space that I have. This book actually covers 9 different forms that you can train a fruit tree to grow into, ten if you count columnar, but those are actually specially developed trees to begin with. The contents are as follows: Introduction The Fruit Gardener What fruit can I grow? Growing fruit in small gardens. Traditional kitchen gardens Large gardens and orchards The fruit grower's year Tree Fruit Apples Pears...

Best Fruit Book for Home Growers
There's long been a vacuum in good books for the home fruit grower. "Grow Fruit" is the best book on the subject right now. It's comprehensive in breadth with adequate depth, and very well illustrated. Even off beat fruits like mulberries, quinces, etc. are covered. The information is accurate for the most part. Also, the downside risks are covered pretty well for each fruit, unlike the usual gushing optimism in other fruit books- you'll know the battles that lie ahead before you start. The one area where the book falls short is in variety information, which is crucial to success. You'll have to comb forums on the internet for that. Several examples are: mulberries where many varieties are placed on equal footing, but "Illinois Everbearing" and "Pakistan" are the gold standards; grapes where trouble prone vinifera's like "Flame" are given full coverage while only outdated labrusca's like "Concord" and "Canadice" are mentioned, instead of winners like "Jupiter", "Steuben",...

Best Read about Dwarf Fruit trees Ever!
I was happily surprised to find how well written and almost poetic this guy writes. I wanted info on how to grow these little trees, which he gives out in great and understandable detail, but found myself also enchanted by the mellow early twentieth century musings of this author. Really, it is one of my favorite books. I think this officially makes me a nerd, but so be it! Wish this old pictures were not so dark, but heck- they were taken almost 100 years ago!

BUY Dwarf Fruit Trees: Their Propagation, Pruning, And General Management, Adapted To The United States And Canada (1906)

Where Can I buy Fruit Trees

Plum trees and persimmon trees are two examples.  Something like apple trees will need very little maintenance to grow and produce wonderful fruits. Consider planting a stunning fruit tree. Go to your local nursery to find a fruit tree to plant. Have you always wanted to plant your own fruit tree.  Fruit trees can be hardy and easy to keep.  Fruit trees are easier to plant than you might think.  They can tell you what fruit trees do great in your area climate.  You will have a stunning tree in your yard and plump fruit in the kitchen.  A fruit tree will make you the envy of the neighborhood.

The fruit trees you can select are many: apple trees, plum trees, cherry trees, fig trees, mulberry trees, olive trees, peach trees, nectarine trees, and others. Semi dwarf trees have manageable sizes with normal fruit yield, which is why they are a preferred size of fruit tree today. Smaller varieties of fruit trees are specially cultivated hybrids that have different characteristics than standard varieties of trees. Pruning and harvesting is obviously easier with smaller trees and when the trees are smaller you can have a greater variety of trees in a smaller space. Like pretty much everything else that we want to buy these days, it is possible to buy fruit trees online as well. Many trees may not be able to survive extreme cold, extreme heat, snow, hail, frost and so on. Also consider how much rain you get where you live and whether this will be suitable for the trees you have in mind.

Fruit trees allow you to have stunning foliage and shade in your garden, while having delicious fresh fruit in your kitchen. For a first time tree planter, it will be critical that you get the best professional guidance possible before you plant your tree.  Some may only offer plants and little varieties, but you may be able to locate one that offers fruit and dwarf trees.  There are a number of different places where you can purchase your own fruit tree.  You can also find tons of information on fruit trees.  You will soon be enjoying a beautiful tree in your yard, and plump fruit in your kitchen.  One of your choices is fruit trees.  It is actually really easy to buy and grow your own trees. This gives you the option to purchase trees that you may not be able to get from your local nursery.

Fortunately spring greens are beginning to appear, and the strawberries have been prolific but the affect of no rain in the last six months has taken its toll on fruit trees, the oranges have not developed to a size agreeable for supermarkets to...   Thai Green curry is now one of the most popular curry dishes the world over and now is the time to start those herbs growing, and if you haven’t tried already, basil and coriander are good ones. Few dishes provide both the spring freshness and cooked-in flavour of a good green curry. Yesterday I bought strawberries in the market that were covered with white petals from the orange blossom that had fallen on them from the trees. Sometimes we find ourselves craving something warm and spicy, and sometimes I just plain can’t be bothered with getting in the car and driving to the nearest curry house. You then have a good base for a really quick Thai Green Curry. It tends to go crazy, so you end up with a lot to use, which is why this easy recipe for Thai Green Curry Paste is so handy. I don’t think of it as any particular kind of curry-  Rather, it’s just a combination of ingredients and flavours that I like, and usually have lying around:Lemongrass coconut milk, cumin I´m a self-taught cook. You can make up a big batch of it and keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks, or store in small batches in the freezer for up to a year. So A curry, relying on pantry staples, may seem a little out of place for the time of year.
