Save money with my method!
Feliway Comfort Zone diffusers are great for reducing stress in cats. They help prevent aggression and urine marking in the home. But, they are really expensive- $15-18 per monthly refill. I had the brilliant idea to use a $5 appliance timer (electric socket timer from Home Depot) to reduce the amount of Feliway dispensed by the Diffuser. To ensure the Diffuser is releasing product frequently, I use a timer that allows for 15 minute intervals and set it to supply electricity 1/3 of the time (ie on for 15 minutes off for 30 minutes). The timer makes the product last 3 times as long so it pays for itself in less than a month. Feel free to experiment with the timing. Perhaps you can get away with having it on for just 15-30 minutes 3 times a day, it will depend on your cat's level of stress. I would start with it being on 1/2 of the time and gradually decrease the time as kitty feels better. I hope this tip will help people to keep their beloved kitties and help kitties heal from the...

Miraculous!
The scenario: my 6 month old kitten adopted from a garbage pit 4 months ago, for many unpreventable medical and physiological reasons reverted back to her feral state; fearful, crying, and creating all-night insanity, making sleep impossible for me, the other cats, and perhaps the neighbors as well.Most alarming was that the stressful condition she was in altered her appetite, and the most she would consume was some warm milk.I didn't want to add to the medications she was already taking, with a prescription of something like Diazepam (Valium), so decided to give "Comfort Zone" a try.I noticed an improvement within 8 hours, and by 36 hours, all her feral symptoms had vanished, and she was calm, slept through the night, ate, and was her charming, cuddly self again. Excellent product. The only thing that has controlled our cat's occasional penchant for urinating on our bed. When our initial diffuser refill was gone, we tried not using the Feliway for a while, but our boy soon convinced us to order another refill. We might still try not using it at times, but will always keep a spare on hand.

Works unbelievably
I was at the end of my rope with my cat spraying everywhere. I plugged in this Feliway and he stopped the VERY NEXT DAY!! I have been using it for months now with no problem. Once, I let the liquid get very low and that day, he sprayed. You just have to be careful not to let it get way down to the bottom of the jar.I would very highly recommend Feliway to anyone who is having problems with cat spraying.

Helps keep our family unit together
We started with Feliway at the recommendation of a vet to calm the aggressively playful behavior of a male kitten (abandoned at three weeks) that we introduced into a home with three 13-year-old female cats. It worked, and we continue to use use Feliway 3 1/2 years later - it's helped the cats cope through the introduction of two more stray female cats, the loss of two of the senior cats, and two moves. All indoor cats, we can see changes in their attitudes as each month comes to an end and it comes time to change the Feliway. And buying six-pack refills through Amazon makes it a less expensive habit than if we went elsewhere.

Really works!
I wrote a review for the feliway plug in, which I have been extremely pleased with. I ordered the feliway spray as a 'reinforcement' to keep my hallway poop and pee free. I have a purebred female persian cat who is 10 years old who can be a little moody when something bugs her. She has peed in my upstairs hallway in the past and nothing will stop a cat once they decide they want to mark. I tore up the carpet and pad, used every enzime product there is on the market (they did not work), used vinegar and water (got rid of the smell but not the problem), treated the subfloor of the upstairs and used kilz oil based primer spray to lock in any remnants of the kitty pee. I finally had a pee free house, so I put in a berber like carpet with stainmaster and a waterproof carpet pad. Everything was fine but one day I thought I smelled something nasty upstairs, and lo and behold I caught my cat peeing again out of the box. She was examined by the vet and no health problems were present-the vet...

Life saver and aromatherapy for cats.
Hi Everyone,Last Friday Tazz (our male cat) was attacked in our yard by a loose dog, needless to say I rushed him to the hospital Friday afternoon and upon the initial examination, the vet did not find any external damage. The next day I gave Tazz a bath because he was covered in urine from the attack and that is when I noticed a lump on his right rear hip. I took him to another emergency hospital at which they did an ultra sound of his hip and found he has a hematoma / fluid in his hip.The vet gave me some anti-inflammatory liquid to give him but he is still in pain and you can see it when he tries to jump or climb. It works but...
You have to rule out other things first. If your cat has an underlying medical condition that needs to be treated first or nothing will work. Most cats do not eliminate outside of the litterbox if they are healthy. In fact, over 90% of inappropriate elimination can be directly attributed to illness or a medical condition. The first step needs to be a visit to your vet for a urinalysis. Feliway is for the behavioral aspect. Once your cat is healthy again it may be habit to go in the spot where they chose. When a cat feels pain while urinating he begins to associate that pain with the litterbox itself. That's why they go somewhere else.What Feliway does is mimics facial pheremones. Ever seen your cat rubbing his cheek on the wall? He is marking it to say it's a safe place. That's what Feliway mimics. Worth the money!
I keep buying these, because my cat problem is worse without them. I have a 6 year old male cat, who does not like sharing his house with other cats. He began urinating outside the box and fighting with other cats in the house a few years ago. I tried lots of things--getting extra litter boxes, placing them in different locations, eliminating scented plug-ins, etc. The only thing that even comes close to making a difference is the pheromone plug-in. Yes, he still occasionally pees outside the box, but not every day. ANd he does not fight much at all anymore. He seems much more content. Although he still is not super fond of the current other cat, he at least tolerates her better. As soon as the plug-in runs out, he will start urinating and fighting more, if I do not replace it right away. Yes, it's expensive. I may try the timer idea to save some money on replacements, because I do notice a big difference when I use these plug-ins.

Saved my kitty
My wife gave me 6 months to get the cat from peeing in the upstairs hallway or she's sending the cat to the animal shelter. I had tried EVERYTHING! Vinegar/peroxide/baking soda, natures miracle, stink free, pulling up the carpet and pad. This was my last hope. With in a week of plugging in the comfort zone diffuser, there were NO MORE MARKINGS!! It's been a little over 3 weeks since the last marking and she now seems to find the box everytime. I am pretty sure it was the dog that moved in about 18 months ago that stressed her out and started marking in the first place. It's been that long of having a urine soaked hallway. But, not anymore!! I still have a lot of clean up to do, but, she has seemed to stop peeing outside the litter box. Great product!!

A peaceful home in 3 days!!
Wow, I cannot believe the behavioral changes in my 3 male indoor cats!! It has been chaotic in comparison and I just didn't realize how peaceful it could be with a little help!Here are the problems I was having with one of my 3 cats: 1. Behaving aggressively towards the other two by attacking, biting, hunting them really 2. Meowing often, even in the middle of the night, often waking me up at 3am AND I NEED MY SLEEP! 3. Chewing almost EVERYTHING - power cords, flip-flops, the bed frame, the hard plastic handle on his brush, etc.Last week I took him to the vet wanting him tested for hyperthyroidism and if that were not the problem, then get some sort of tranquilizer. My vet said the blood work was normal and for me to try Feliway - either that or we try a daily dose of Prozac and I'm not too keen on having to give a cat medication every day if I can avoid it.My condo is 1100 square feet so I got 2 diffusers. Helping to introduce new cat to 2 cat household
I just began using this product. I really like it. I have two cats and am introducing a new 6 month old kitten. They are still just behind opposite doors so based on the new smell my orange cat got very upset. She'd hiss at everything or everyone in the house and sometimes would go screaming through the house. Since my two resident cats are litter mates it was stressful to see them not get along.
