Surprising and Fun
This is a new series for this author and I found that this is a "GRAND" start to the series. She left just enough out to keep you coming back for more. I find I am very curious about the culture and how (since they started out as a single race) did they change to be 9 different races. I have a million questions and I am sure the author will answer them a little in each installment... which is what makes series FUN!!

A fun and sexy tale
This is the first book I read from Stephani Hecht, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. In this world, there are more than just werewolves.... there are many lines of shifters: jaguars, hawks, wolves, cheetahs, lions. The list seems to go on.In this story, Jacyn is a paramedic who starts out having a very bad night. Stopping at a convenience store, he comes under attack by several gunmen. A stranger appears and helps him, but he's still abducted by men who seem to be able to turn into large birds. Also, he seems to have turned, at least for a little while, into a large jaguar. The man helping him is Logan, and Logan is also a jaguar shifter.Shifters form coalitions, pretty much keeping to their own "species", though sometimes they form alliances and work together. The feline shifters are under leadership of a jaguar named Mitchell, who helps their coalition prosper by selling their services to the American government (regular citizens don't know these...

Aside for the cover that, sorry, but it wouldn't have attracted me to read the book, the first instalment in the Lost Shifter series is pretty good for a gay paranormal themed book.True, Stephani Hecht mostly uses known themes, like the "mate" rule (you are my mate and I will only love/have sex with you), or the "pack" concept (you are part of my pack hence you are a good boy and we will fight together against the big bad men), but she did that in her own way so that, in the end, this first book didn't seem a copy of many other similar stories.Jacyn is a Lost Shifters, one of the many cubs who went missing years ago during a feud between the raven shifters and the feline ones. He doesn't know about his origins, being raised like a foster kid and believing to not having any relatives at all. Logan is the black jaguar, a misfit among the shifters, but he has a debt of honour towards Jacyn's brother, Mitchell, and for that reason he would do everything it needs to...

wow. erotic, romantic and fun!
This is the first book I've read by Morgan Hawke, but it definitely won't be the last. The sex was hot, the characters were engaging, and the plot was interesting. Usually "erotic" novels (at least for me) are missing at least one out of three of these essential elements, but not here. When the book ended I was REALLY disappointed. I would have been perfectly happy to read at least another hundred pages about their relationship. I highly recommend this book.

I don't leave many reviews but as a follow-up to a comment made below.... Tempestuous is also m/m. Both books are incredibly hot! Actually, Morgan's "Torrid" was the first strickly m/m I'd read and I found it, interestingly enough, a major turn on! I'm hoping she sets another story with these two guys... especially after the closing pages! Get the book and you'll know what I mean. :) If you like hot erotica, no matter what the mixture, Morgan's books are perfect. The girl has some serious imagination!!!

ACK! I LOVE THIS...MORE, MORE!!!
I'm not going into a long review, but suffice to say, the action was hot, the romance was smooth, and the protagonists were wonderful! I loved both the main characters and couldn't possibly choose a favorite. A striking, if somewhat exhibitionist "uke" and a powerful, demanding "seme" make the most of this book. If you like yaoi/shonen-ai, you will LOVE this! Write more, more, more, Morgan!!
