Great Bag
This "back pack" is actually better than I expected. Well made, plenty of pockets with good proportions....not too big, not too small. As with other reviews, the zipper may be the weak link. However the bag overall is a quality piece and I expect to get a lot of use out of it.UPDATE to my previous review: Since purchasing this back pack in May 2011 (Today's date is 10/22/2011), it has been through the airports numerous times and has accompanied me on trips to Florida, Texas, Cyprus, Athens Greece and most recently to Ft. Yukon, Alaska. This bag has exceeded my expectations with durability and convenience. It still looks good, is sized "just right" and is comfortable to wear. Plenty of pockets which are the right blend of being secure yet accessible. I like it and would buy another without hesitation. And, so far the zipper has held up well!

Durable and Stylish
I just picked this pack up a few weeks ago and here are my thoughts:Pros:+ Durable: This thing is the sturdiest backpack I've ever owned. If you're used to lugging your stuff around with a Jansport, you'll be very pleasantly surprised how nice and thick the material is. I've seen a few people complain about broken zippers, but they seem just fine to me.+ Comfortable: The 'yoke' style straps are great and well padded. The back also has a very nice semi-rigid material that keeps it flat against your back, rather than bulging when things are packed in it.+ Well designed: In addition to the previously mentioned rigid back panel, the laptop compartment keeps your laptop suspended above the bottom of the bag. This is an awesome feature, since it'll keep your laptop safe when you carelessly drop your backpack on the ground. The chest strap is also terrific. It's adjustable in two different ways and keeps the bag really tight against your body...

Great Backpack!
I was fed up using and wearing purses when I hit Amazon to look for a cute everyday backpack. I hate carrying a purse on one shoulder and never having enough room to carry around all of my stuff. This backpack is cute but not huge. The last thing I wanted was to look like a highschool kid carrying around an enormous backpack. This is big enough for all of my stuff but cute, slim, and stylist enough that I still feel like an adult carrying it. I love all the small pockets and the side pockets. The back is padded nicely and the straps are very comfortable.

Decent, But a little Small.
It is a really nice backpack for the most part, but has a few cons.Pros:+ Durable and Sturdy+ Laptop Sleeve+ Adjustable Straps+ Many PocketsCons:+Six inches in depth (literally) It doesnt expand any more than that at allI would not recommend this backpack to people who are going to be carrying a lot of books around. Its about the size of a Jansport backpack, so if you think those are small i would not recommend this is the backpack for you. +

Pretty, functional bookbag
This bookbag is awesome! It's really the best bookbag I've ever owned. I'm in graduate school and I use this all the time, and I really think it'll be the first bookbag I've owned that won't get all beat up and ripped looking pretty soon. I bought it back in March, and it's still bright and not dirty at all! I bought the Pink Plaid variety.This bag has a million pockets, and it's so nice and roomy. I can fit everything I need in here. There's a front insulated pocket for food or a drink (right now I have two pairs of flip-flops in there so you know how big it is), a bigger middle pocket that has several smaller slots for an mp3 player, your pens, cords, headphones, whatever...and a very, very roomy main pocket. Right now in the main pocket I have my Wii, 4 Wii games in the cases, a game controller, my Nintendo DS and that game case, a folder, and a book, and there's still room for my 13.3" computer (I know because I just took it out) and my external hard drive...

Thoroughly impressed
**Just as a warning, my review is lengthy and very detailed, somewhat "essay" like. I don't like reviews that are "THIS IS SO GREAT!" Because they aren't exactly helpful with determining quality, as any one piece of the product could be great and they overlook an important issue. If you want all the deets on this backpack, as I see it, then go for it. If you're going for the quick and dirty, definitely not the review for you.** I got my bag yesterday, on the first day of the time window given by Amazon. The box was a little bigger than necessary, and the excess packaging (brown paper) was more so because of the fact that it was a backpack, not a vase. It could have been shipped in a big 3M bubble wrap envelope, as it is so flat. I open the box and think "Crap, that is a really small bag. What if my textbooks won't fit?" And then I open it up. It is the perfect depth for a resonable sized Macbook, and the width is enough to fit the whole Mac cord, a thick notebook, my...

Cute and Functional - Just what I needed
I needed a backpack for school that will accommodate a laptop and a couple of books while looking good. This backpack is exactly what I needed. All my stuff fits in comfortably. Straps are nice and sturdy and they don't cut into my shoulders. Material is durable, stitching is good quality. I like the rubbery inside which makes the bag waterproof (I did not test it in pouring rain but whatever ran off my umbrella did not get through). Nice front pocket for your pens, phone, etc. Insulated cooler pocket is a nice touch but I don't use it for lunch and such. It is really deep lengthwise but not deep enough front to back to hold anything thicker than a regular sandwich or maybe a banana (but you can stack a lot of bananas and sandwiches :)). Side pockets are awesome! Both can fit a regular plastic water bottle but one has a mesh and drawstring inside so it expands to hold your bigger fancy water bottles (or whatever else). This backpack is super cute too! Definitely a girly...

Great Backpack!

I can't fit my chem book in it.
Its a lot better than my previous back pack and equally distributes weight to avoid back pain. Its also very cute although a lot more purple than displayed in the picture. Only problem is that I can't fit more than one text book in it and if I put a text book and my laptop its pretty crowed. It works for me because I leave my text books at home anyways but if you're one of those people who is going to need to carry multiple text books... good luck.

great bag
The backpack is everything it was supposed to be and more. It is well made, functional, and stylish. My daughther is a Sophomore, and it gets the job done everyday for her. She hauls around her books, lunch, ipod, phone, glasses, dance practice outfit, water bottle, all in there own comparments. She has gotten so many compliments on this bag as well, and so many wanting to know where she purchased it. Good value for the money.We have yet to use it for her laptop, but I am sure it wont fail us. I hope they make new patterns for next season.

Great Backpack
This is a terrific backpack! The straps stay on my shoulders and are comfortable. I love the insulated pocket for packing yogurt or cheese with my lunch. There are plenty of spaces for pens/pencils. The sunglass pouch is terrific too. Overall, it's just a great bag.The only downside is it is not as roomy as my old Jansport, but everything else about this bag is terrific.

this is a little roomier than another dakine i had. the last dakine zipper broke after two years of heavy usage which is ok in my book but they could use stronger zippers to make the bags last.the color and pattern are great, very similar to photo.
