Worked Well
I got this stir paddle to use for a pretty good sized boil for about 16 people over Memorial day weekend. Upon receiving it, all edges were smooth and the wood seemed of good quality, though soft. Which leads to a couple "issues": Is there a cooking paddle made of hard wood out there? I'm not willing to seal this...it's used for cooking. Will it eventually become saturated with seasoning and cross-flavor the next cook? Regardless, it's a great product that's cheap enough to buy a few and replenish when necessary. If you like to do low country boils or big pot cooking, this is a fabulous tool that is fun to use.

Well made stirrer
This is well made and appears to be made from northern cedar. Honestly, it's not really necessary to own this paddle, but it is handy. You can easily get by with long handled spoons for jambalaya or even a short 1X3 you can buy at the hardware store. It does come with a warning that it is not to be used for disciplining children, husbands or wives.

A great Souvenir (especially when you forgot to get one)
On a recent trip to Maine I picked up a really cute lobster hat as a gift for a friend. Later (after I had returned home) I realized that someone else other than the person that I gave the hat to really, I mean REALLY, wanted one. Thank goodness that this hat was available from Amazon (it really didn't matter to them where I bought it, as long as they got one). This passed as a nice lobster hat but it could have easily been presented as a crab hat or even a crayfish hat. It is not really high-quality but then again, who is going to wear this more than once or twice? A fun, fun item!

Be careful where you wear
I got this hat, and I loved it. It was really nice at first, but one day when I was horsing around in the lobster tank at my local seafood restaurant like usual, when I was dragged out of the tank and almost boiled! The cooks still boiled the hat, but I took it off to escape. The hat survived the boil like nothing happened, and I'd still wear it if I wasn't afraid. It's a great hat, just watch out where you wear it.
