My favorite tool
Wow I am impressed. I spent the last three days on the roof of my house putting up ham radio antenna systems. I needed to solder many conections, unsolder them and resolder them as I was triming antenna to resonant length. This tool is really good. I am showing it to everyone who comes in the house. The hot torch tip is useful to unsolder large-wire connections, the type that seems to suck up all the heat of a normal soldering iron. The iron heats up almost instantly, I have never had a failed start when I click the start button. There is a wire fashioned tool holder that I haven't quite figured out how it is supposed to hold something. This is a real tool for real jobs.

great solder iron
this is a great tool which I've had for a couple months now. works as advertised and is flawless thus far. easy to use. heats up solder tip in several seconds. comes with heat deflector for use with heat shrink - and who doesnt want a solder iron that doubles as a mini blow torch?!

Excellent Soldering Iron
Nearly all of my soldering work is on old motorcycle and car electrical systems. Mostly it involves 12 to 14 gauge wire and lots of connectors. My big Craftsman soldering gun was cumbersome and difficult to use. This Portasol iron is exactly what I needed. It heats very quickly, and its small tip is just the thing for soldering connectors. Lightweight and easy to handle, it cuts way down on fatigue too. I haven't tried the various attachements yet, but even if I never use them this is still a great tool.

Fast-charges the HTC Incredible
I use my Droid Incredible as my primary GPS car navigator, so I needed a car charger that could keep up with the power needs of Google Maps with the GPS running. The Belkin USB adapter says it puts out 1A, but my Incredible showed that is was only getting a trickle-charge (500 mA) from it, because the Belkin charger does not implement the latest USB charger standard (short the data pins for a fast charge).This charger shows up as an AC charger on my Incredible, and it is able to charge my phone even while I am using it for GPS navigation. Recommended for any newer phone that uses a micro-USB connector.

Cheap and It Works
I needed a dual usb charger for a trip I went on. I ordered this because of the price and reviews. So far it has worked great. It does feel a little cheap so I am worried about the long term use, hence the 4 stars.Pros: Works and is cheaper than most of the competitors.Cons: Cheap feel. Is somewhat long so if you have a gear shift close to your dc outlet as I do, then it is a tight fit in park. I had to keep unplugging my ipod when I put the car in park.EDIT:I have now taken it on 3 separate trips and it works great. It has yet to fail anytime I plug in my phone and ipod. I keep it in my backpack and it hasnt broken yet so I think it is worth the money.
