14 years and still happy...
I have been using Advantix for 14 years now and have found nothing better. Have compared it to cheaper store brands and to Frontline, but the Advantix works best. My outside dogs are not bothered by fleas, ticks or even flies. I have read some poor reviews on this product, but neither of my dogs have ever experienced any side effects to Advantix, even when they were young. It seems that when I used Frontline in the past, the directions said to put the entire contents of the tube in one spot between the shoulder blades, whereas Advantix specifically states to disperse in four areas from the shoulders to the base of the tail. I wonder if some people are putting all of it in one spot and that is causing irritation?

Very Effective
Our dog had been without fleas for quite some time. After a visit to a nature area, she began scratching quite a bit. We used the Frontline version at Costco, and it seemed like there was little to no effect. A few weeks later, we tried tried Advantix II and within 24 hours, there was no more scratching. This treatment works great.

K9 Advantix works well
I've been using K9 Advantix for slightly over a year now and haven't seen a single flea in that time. Although my dog is an indoor dog, she goes hiking and walking with me often, has very thick fur, and has plenty of exposure to ticks and other pests. Before I used K9 Advantix, I used Frontline and although it stopped fleas I still found live ticks on her.It's a little messy to put on because my dog's fur is thick, but until there is a medication in pill form that stops everything including ticks, I plan to use K9 Advantix as long as it works.

As Good as the Original...
We had been using the original K9 Advantix with our dog to great effect -- and with none of the scary side effects other reviewers have mentioned -- so I figured we would continue with the "new" formula. I don't know what prompted Bayer to change this product, but it seems to be just as effective as before, so no complaints from me.Sure, it might be specious reasoning, but my dog doesn't have fleas or ticks, so I'm going to go ahead and say that's because of the Advantix. Yeah, it's possible she wouldn't get fleas even if we stopped using this, but to be perfectly honest, I don't want to find out. Spending the money on this is definitely worth the peace of mind.This stuff is a little messy, but we try to apply it when we know the dog is going be in her crate for a while, like before we head out to work for day. I don't think that you would want your pup rubbing up against upholstered furniture with this stuff on... it's kind of oily and almost certainly stains...

This stuff works great!
I was skeptical to buy this type of protection after being horribly disappointed in Frontline a couple years ago. I live in the country on a heavily wooded lot and my pug and cat were coming in every day with several ticks so I decided to give this a try. I applied this on a Tues evening and on Wed evening they came in without any ticks!! It's been about 2 weeks and still no ticks so I'm very happy. I feel much better about the pets exploring the woods now. Hopefully this stuff works as long as they say it should. (I used on my kitty and it also works great) As far as the review about the burns, I had no such experience and my pug has fairly sensitive skin.

Works great, no harm to my dogs
Because it was cheaper, previously I used Frontline Plus on my dogs. To make a long story short, after a couple of months use, they had a reaction to it which burned their hair and skin and I took them to the vet who called the manufacturer. The manufacturer did not offer to reimburse me for the product or for the vet expenses. SO, I switched (cautiously) to K9 Advantix II. I still spread the application in small doses down their spine. This is the second summer I've used the product and the dogs have had no adverse reactions to it. Our 1.5 acre lot is wooded and I have seen zero problems with fleas, ticks, mosquitos, flies, etc., biting the dogs. As with any product, I suppose, any given dog could have an adverse reaction, but my money goes on K9 Advantix II!

I was using a cheaper product and my dog tested positive for lime disease. The Vet suggested I use K9 Advantix II. After checking the online pet pharmacies I found that Amazon had the best deal.

Product works for us
We have been using this product on our 5 year old Llasa granddog for 4 years now, and we have not had any problems. We live in the south U.S. and our dog is flea free. I hope this review helps others to make the decision to use this product.

Price is right!
As always, Amazon provides the best prices compared to places like 1-800-petmeds or even my vet. I have never had an issue with fleas and ticks with my little Brody and I plan on keeping it that way and the K9A is exactly what I am going to use to help. After speaking with my vet and doing some reading online, it seems that the K9A has had more success stories and less bad effects compared to a few of the other big-name flea/tick drops. Best price per dose also helps :).

The best product on the market
We had trouble with both cat and dog for 10 months, to the point where our house was infested in fleas. Our vet kept telling us there was nothing better to use than Frontline. After several hundred dollars of antibiotics and steroids for our dog and bombing the house, we finally decided to bite the bullet and try something else. After 24 hours of applying this product we noticed a decrease in the dog's scratching. After 2 applications, we did not see 1 flea in our house or on the animals. I am so thankful for this product! It has now been 1 year and we haven't seen my dog scratch herself once.

Fleas are gone
Very pleased with the first application. In the hot humid semi tropical region here in the glorious South where the sauna/spa is free, just walk outside, the fleas thrive. The fleas of course can not be exterminated because there are miles and miles of them, but this product can help keep them off of the dogs. They occasionally scratch and paw, but nothing like before. I am just sorry that the medical industry does not allow purchase of products like this to help the outside pets we have to live a comfortable life without vet visits, prescriptions, etc. all for the almighty $$, and not just for pets either. Another "law" created by " Big Brother", Only recently has this product, and others such as Frontline, has become available "over the counter". I better get off my soapbox !! The only flea preventative I'll use
I have a dog that is allergic to fleas. She will scratch herself up looking for relief from just a few. I use Advantix II and by the next day she is no longer scratching. I have used Frontline on her in the past and it never seemed to get rid of all the fleas.As advertized, this medicine lasts 30 days, so it is important you apply EVERY 30 days. I have noticed that if I apply a couple of days late she starts scratching again.However, I would recommend buying from Drs. Foster and Smith instead of Amazon. They're about $10 cheaper and offer free standard shipping on all flea and tick products.

More effective and faster than Frontline
I had a flea infestation in my house and on my dog. I used Frontline, bombed the house, and have been vacuuming daily. I could see a few dead fleas that fell off my dog after the first 24 hours of Frontline and was waiting for more to die off but that wasn't the case. I followed the instructions exactly, but after the first 3.5 weeks the problem seemed to get worse. I was using Capstar in addition to kill off the adults, but it seemed they kept appearing! I read that Frontline has become less effective in the past few years and that seems to be true. I read some reviews on Advantix II and decided to try that for the second month. I know it takes three months to break a flea cycle but this seems to have worked after the first week! I gave him Advantix II and a Capstar the first day and I haven't seen a flea since. This stuff is AMAZING and my frustrating is slowly dwindling away. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON FRONTLINE!!

best anti-flea and tick product we've used for our small dogs
We live in a heavily wooded and grassy area and have struggled in the past to keep ticks of our dogs. Most products offer protection from fleas, but not ticks. The ones we have previously found that claimed to keep ticks away did nto work. This product has successfully kept ticks away from our small dogs, as well as fleas. We've noticed it's very important to stay on top of the dosing in order for the product to work.
