Just what I wanted!!
I'm sure there are many uses for these little test tubes... Having a Harry Potter or Science themed party? They're just right!But for our family, they've got a special use... We're planning a trip back to my daughter's homeland with 2 other families with kiddos from her orphanage. It's common for people traveling to an important place to take a bit of dirt, or a bit of sand, or even some water from that place. These sturdy little tubes will be just the trick! After examining them, I'm pretty sure they'll be water-tight, but I'd put them in a ziploc bag to be sure.These test tubes are small, lightweight, unbreakable and will travel across the ocean with us to carry back whatever treasures we find...And the price is great!!!

Product Description

Polycarbonate is a transparent high molecular weight, linear, low-crystalline plastic. It is generally sought out for its very high impact resistance which approaches 30 times that of safety glass. Light transmittance is 90 percent. In addition to being a very hard plastic, it has a very high modulus of elasticity making it resistant to creep; it has excellent electrical resistivity, and an operating temperature range of -275 F to 250 F. It is generally unaffected by greases, oils and acids. Hardness is 112-125 Rockwell R (73-78 M Scale). Heat deflection temperature is 275-285 Degrees F at 264 PSI. Easily fabricated by machining, drilling, and sawing with a low likelihood of cracking or chipping. Solvent resistance is poor but polycarbonate is easily bonded. Prolonged exposure to solvents with the material under stress will result in crazing and cracking. Top to learn more

Exactly as described
The rod was straight (not warped), and transparent. It is easily cut with a hack saw or hobby saw; and with care, it can be drilled to create a tube. Epoxy glue adheres to it quite well.

Product Description

needs better packaging
The tubing that I recieved is exactly as advertized. I would suggest that the tubing be wrapped with something to protect it while it is being stored and shipped. mine had lots of scratches on it. Not an issue for my use so I just kept it.

Excellent Product, except for a sticker-label
It's exactly what it says, a 1-1/2" OD polycarbonate tube with a 1/16" wall. My only complaint would be the sticker-label on the tube, I had to scrap it off then wipe the residue away with isopropyl alcohol. I got the label off, with only a few minor scratches, but I would have preferred no label at all. Would give 4.5 stars, I'll buy it again when I need another

It's a bit scratched up.
It is the cheapest I could find for this specific product, but it's pretty scratched up. Looks like they've had it for a while.It also has clearly visible lines in it from the extrusion process which would be difficult to buff out uniformly.For it's price, it's not too bad I suppose.
